Well I had bought my IX with 1,000 miles on it for $25,500 with a trade in. The car was orignally $35,XXX or w/e. If they only gave me $25,XXX or less, that would be like taking my trade in car, and then giving me less than what I had to pay for to purchase the evo. So they have to compensate for the trade in. I never went in person to talk about it, I was never interested, I just thought it was odd they were wanting to do buy backs and were offering such great deals. I think perhapds it was just a scheme to get me into a new X and get more money out of my pocket, since they are running what $40,000+?

It makes perfect sense, buy back a used IX for $34,000 sell it for 36,000+, give me insentives to buy a X. The more X's people like us see on the road, the "more" we grow and like them. It booms like VIII' IX's did and boom they are making money.

Who is offering this? Do you have a number or name. I might be selling my IX and if they are gonna offer me 30K I would take it. If you have any more info on this like a name or number or witch dealership let me know please. Thanx

Whats the laws on modified exhaust??? Some NLVPD was bored by my house and pulled a u turn to pull me over for my exhaust. He said if its not stock then its illegal, so I think have the city would be screwed. He also informed me its a 200 dollar ticket. I am from cali and this would just be a fix it ticketm does the same rules apply in Nevada. BTW he gave me a warning and told me to put a silencer on.

11.28.260 Exhaust system--Modification.
No person shall modify the exhaust system of a motor vehicle in a manner which will amplify or increase the noise emitted by the motor of such vehicle above that emitted by the muffler originally installed on the vehicle, and the original muffler shall comply with all of the requirements of this Code.
(Prior code § 10-20-38)

Dad a lawyer, I've dealt with this exact problem before. Only in N.LV have i ever heard of people getting pulled over for it..If you do get a ticket for it, the only way around not paying is putting the stock back on and getting a written statement from dealership saying its stock and it performs the way the car was manufactured..

its real, my dad has been getting the calls @ his law office the last two weeks. I wouldn't ask if it wasn't true, i just wandered if I was the only person who was getting the calls. He jokingly said he was going to do it (i asked him to buy me a beater car for school) and buy me the beater.. an to clear things up and possibly why they asked 34,000. I orignally bought my evo for $25,500...I traded in a car, the evo was orignally 35 or 36 something w/ tax. Common math would tell one, if they offered me anything less than 25k that would mean, Im only getting cash back for what the price of the car was after trade in, and the value of the trade in goes straight to them (extra 8-10k cash) And I would be out a car. They are compensating for the trade in I had...So i still lose 2-3k If the orignal price was 36 w/ tax. Dealership was United Mistubishi.

Price w/ tax for evo ix = 36,XXX
Car trade in ~ 8,XXX-9,XXX (2001 integra)
What I paid cash Price after trade in for evo ix = 25,XXX
Dealership offers me ~ 34,XXX (this number could have changed perhaps If i was to actually sit down and talk about it)

36,XXX - 34.XXX = 2,XXX (Lost in sale, most of it tax money)
If they offered me = 25,XXX (or less)
36,XXX - 25,XXX = 11,XXX
I would be out = 8,XXX-9,XXXX (The value of a trade in car, that would be a clean sweep for them)
+Tax =10,XXX-11,XXX

Thats exactly why it seems like a good deal. If I sold privately, I would be out the value of my trade in car. But of course, obviously mitsu wants this car, and they know I traded a car to them, and as an insentive they are offering me that money back...So to those who think they will get over 30k trading in their car, unlikely. Sorry. Although, my friend does work @ Prestige infinity and I know a guy who traded his blue ix in w/ 16,XXX miles and they gave him $27,000.

Thanks, I guess only NLV, when I got pulled over and he told me why, i wanted to say, \"are you serious?\" Somebody could be robbed or dying and you pull me over for an exhaust.... sorry sir

I love math.
Dood,
U paid 36k for a used GSR! That is crazy. Past deals are past deals. United will say anything to get u in the store. If they would give u 34k trade in for ur IX which is insane then they would charge u a extra 10g's for a X. Thats how they snake ur ***.

Please post up paper work that shows United mistu will give u 34k for ur used 06' IX-GSR. The same price for a new X.
