Las Vegas Evo's
Cops probably wouldnt give a **** if you were Glen Lerner.
My best friends dad is THE ticket terminator (owner and innovator) and they just write him for more violations.
You telling a cop your daddy is a lawyer is like pissing on their boot... they're just going to write you more tickets.
I suggest you stop being an ***.
Despite what you think street racers are not cool.
I got pulled over this evening in North LV...
Making a left turn onto Valley, a bike cop pulls out of an apartment complex exit and looks like he cuts off the guy behind me just to get behind me (he wasn't using a radar gun cause he was driving out of the apartment area at the time). The funny part is as he hauls a$$ to get behind me I saw him almost lose it and almost go into the on coming traffic before getting on my tail. haha.
Anyway, I pull over and he walks up to my driver side window and says he pulled me over a few reasons and give me your license registration insurance, I take off my seat belt (he is still at my window btw...) and reach for my glove box to get my stuff and to also reach for my wallet in my back pocket. Just as i'm giving what he asked for I start to ask what the reasons are...instead of answering me he walks away...i'm thinking "thats kinda rude"...oh well.
When he comes back he tells me that he "clocked me at 45, citing me for not wearing my seatbelt and expired insurance", I'm thinking WTF!! I start to apologize for giving him the wrong insurance card and proceed to give him the current one, he responds "don't bother". At that point I start to mouth off and ask If I heard him correctly and ask if he just said don't bother...he doesn't respond...I start to ask why i'm being cited for not wearing my seatbelt and he replies, "because I just now saw you put it on". WTF!
When I start to remind him that he was standing next to me when i took it off to reach for my insurance and registration he tells me that I need to take that up with the court. WOW, at this point i'm trying to reason with him and tell him how unreasonable, unfair and arrogant he is being...he responds with "if you know whats good for you, you should be quiet"....WOW.
Here is a break down of what happened next:
Me: "What did you say!?"
A-hole cop: "Are we going to have a problem here?"
Me: laughing "Can give me my F'ing ticket so I can leave."
In the end...The citation reads:
He clocked me with a radar gun doing 45mph. FALSE because he wasn't using a radar gun. He was riding his bike at the time.
I wasn't wearing my seatbelt. FALSE because he saw me take it off after i was stopped.
Expired insurance. FALSE because he chose not to accept me handing him the correct and current card, ignoring proof that my insurance is current and valid.
WOW, if these are the type of police officers we have serving citizens I'm concerned.

go to court and be a civil person and explain everything.
You sound reasonable, a reasonable level headed person without a major record will most of the times appeal to a judge.
Remember judges hate BS tickets also, so if you can stay cool a great outcome will come.
So im in Newport Beach tonight... My friend, who also works as a designer at mitsubishi, is driving my car. We get pulled over by a cop who jumped a curb to get at us. The cop proceeded to tell me that nothing about my car is legal. "i dont know what the laws in nevada are, but nothing in the drivers compartment, under the hood, or under the car is legal." I just looked at him with a bewilderd face. seeing as the car was covered in dirt and still had the numbers in the window he asked if i was racing... i replied "Yes" we spent the past 2 hours removing all of the race parts to drive it on the street again. (we really just changed the tires but we were dirty with tire grime). he bought it. told me when i leave nobody will bother me so long as im not drawing attention to me... I just thought to my self, what would happen if i blew my train horn when he was standing there. LOL
Not all cops are bad.

This is my first ticket in Vegas (2yrs) and my last was in '04 I think...I actually drive really slow all the time too. I want to go to court but I really don't need the aggravation...I might just let prepaid legal handle it.
...I'm curious about what you did...
Here is my car being dyno'd at Dynojet for their product research...I'm sure you've all seen the thread on it. My car made 257 Wheel HP and 254 Wheel TQ 100% stock.
I'll post picks of the dyno sheet as soon as I get it.

I got a pretty good idea about what they are developing from Keith @ Dynojet, but I'm not too much of a car tech guy so I'll save myself the trouble of sounding like a jacka$$...
If you go to their website, the power commander module is similar to what they are developing for turbocharged cars.

I need to find the actual rules from the DMV...but it was made to stop people from insuring their car for like a month then dropping it once they got plates.
oh wait found it.

Second day in Newport. Got pulled over going to get coffee. This was a cool cop though. another warning for stopping on the line at a red light and not stoping before it. Cops here are bored.. I think they just pull people over to make conversation.

as for your seatbelt... if thats what happened then sorry.
as for your insurance.... well u handed him the wrong insurance card, i would have wrote you to... do u think we have esp and know that? if i already wrote the ticket i would have said dont bother to. when you go to court just bring prof that u actually had it and they should dismiss that charge.
They might be bored...they'll stop you for just about anything....
Oh and another thing to add.....the part about no insurance is Bull. Most Insurance companys now report to the DMV when your insurance expires..thus flagging your Lic plate to cops. So cops know if your insured just by running the plates.
I need to find the actual rules from the DMV...but it was made to stop people from insuring their car for like a month then dropping it once they got plates.
