Anthony dont lie you never pull people over anyway haha. Ya true story though, I can see why he said dont bother with the insurance, they will dismiss that in a heartbeat when you bring in the proof its no big deal. I wouldnt have wanted to rewrite the ticket either. He does sound like an ahole though, but I generally find that when your REALLY respectful to the officer and treat them well, they usually will lighten up a little. NEVER EVER EVER give them attitude no matter what they say. Way I look at it is I was in the wrong, its my bad so take it like a man. It sucks sure, but I get away with plenty when cops arent around too. Or even when I have one in the car ^^ hehe.
^^^^
and we still have freedome of speech here. Anything car related or off topics should be allowed to be spoken of here. That statement is not correctcalilancer02 yup i had a similiar encounter..i slip the cops my dad lawyer card under my Driver's Lisncese everytime i get pulled over. LOL you should see the look in their eyes its sooooo funny
lol!! i would laugh at you in then stack the hell out of the tickets... i dont care if ur dad is god dude.... if im writing you a ticket i know it before i even make contact with you...handing me a laywer card is just gonna **** me off and make me write you more. i mean i dont care if u plead not guilty and made me go to court because i love going to court, 2 hours of ot minimum :-) so u keep handing those cards out.
My advice if you guys want to talk about street racing is take it to PM's. I did it way back in the day, and I guess we were a little smarter then some of the people out there now but we wouldnt post our spots on forums. We do have cops on here you know. Most of us actually dont street race at all, we take it to the track. Street racing is the reason most cops will NOT be cool with you when they pull you over. So if you want to keep making bad names for us all, go for it. Its gotten really stupid out there, like another guy said all kinds of wrecks all the time and people crashing their cars. I wouldnt go near there with a 10 foot pole. Way too many morons.
Calilancer, you run the streets huh? Should the pizza boy find another road home? Id say bring it out to the track, but you would probably just not have your times posted anyway lol. Do you actually race that 330 hp "beast"? Running the streets doesnt actually count, let me know when you actually do some work at a credible track like the rest of us, either straight line or with turns thrown in. Theres a ton of people on this board that would eat you alive at the track, so sorry if we arent all bowing down to your street racing godliness. Nozzle.

Ill just play evils advocate because i like to, how do you know he didnt clock you? just because he was on his bike... he could have been sitting in the apt complex exit radaring people and then clocked u and pulled out. also, tbh radar certified cops do not even need to radar you to determine if your speeding, they can all estimate speed just by looking at you withing 3-5mph.
as for your seatbelt... if thats what happened then sorry.
as for your insurance.... well u handed him the wrong insurance card, i would have wrote you to... do u think we have esp and know that? if i already wrote the ticket i would have said dont bother to. when you go to court just bring prof that u actually had it and they should dismiss that charge.

As far clocking me, I consider my self a very observant individual...and the fact that the gate was opening as he was leaving the apartment complex pretty much tells me that he wasn't. Unless he is good at multitasking while riding a motorbike then I will put my foot in my mouth
. Considering you need two hands to take off from a slow pace is another reason. The seatbelt thing happened like I explained it. I wouldn't drive a few miles without wearing one. I've had too many friends and family die in accidents to not wear one to improve my chances of survival.
The insurance card...if someone is going to IGNORE someones innocence towards something then they have no decency and are just plain ignorant. When he came back to let me know it was expired he stayed there as I was trying to reason with the guy and continued to finish the ticket. They use PDAs and I know for a fact that they can go back and make changes because he made an error while taking my information down..he went back an edited my cell number.
If officers had ESP then I have no doubt in my mind that some would be more arrogant and a$$e$.

Steexz no disrespect towards you in anyway...but you have to admit that there the occasional officers that have some kind of power trip.
I actually respect Police Officers, and what they do....believe it or not. I have read/watched/heard of so many instances of what is not right that I am not surprised stuff like this has happened to me.

distant u have good points... ur right, using a pda he most definately could have gone back and changed it. As for me i wouldnt have been able to simply because its writing and its a pain in the ****. as for radaring you... its possible he did from inside, who knows though, maybe he did maybe he didnt. i guess we won't ever know. and as for cops on a power trip... well that goes for every profession really.... theres cops on the dept i don't like... it goes with everyone you meet... some people are just a-holes.
yea... like i said let's hope you do not have kids. i now understand why you hate police.... because police do not like dealing with idiots and you are the prime example .
I got pulled over this evening in North LV...
Making a left turn onto Valley, a bike cop pulls out of an apartment complex exit and looks like he cuts off the guy behind me just to get behind me (he wasn't using a radar gun cause he was driving out of the apartment area at the time). The funny part is as he hauls a$$ to get behind me I saw him almost lose it and almost go into the on coming traffic before getting on my tail. haha.
Anyway, I pull over and he walks up to my driver side window and says he pulled me over a few reasons and give me your license registration insurance, I take off my seat belt (he is still at my window btw...) and reach for my glove box to get my stuff and to also reach for my wallet in my back pocket. Just as i'm giving what he asked for I start to ask what the reasons are...instead of answering me he walks away...i'm thinking "thats kinda rude"...oh well.
When he comes back he tells me that he "clocked me at 45, citing me for not wearing my seatbelt and expired insurance", I'm thinking WTF!! I start to apologize for giving him the wrong insurance card and proceed to give him the current one, he responds "don't bother". At that point I start to mouth off and ask If I heard him correctly and ask if he just said don't bother...he doesn't respond...I start to ask why i'm being cited for not wearing my seatbelt and he replies, "because I just now saw you put it on". WTF!
When I start to remind him that he was standing next to me when i took it off to reach for my insurance and registration he tells me that I need to take that up with the court. WOW, at this point i'm trying to reason with him and tell him how unreasonable, unfair and arrogant he is being...he responds with "if you know whats good for you, you should be quiet"....WOW.
Here is a break down of what happened next:
Me: "What did you say!?"
A-hole cop: "Are we going to have a problem here?"
Me: laughing "Can give me my F'ing ticket so I can leave."
In the end...The citation reads:
He clocked me with a radar gun doing 45mph. FALSE because he wasn't using a radar gun. He was riding his bike at the time.
I wasn't wearing my seatbelt. FALSE because he saw me take it off after i was stopped.
Expired insurance. FALSE because he chose not to accept me handing him the correct and current card, ignoring proof that my insurance is current and valid.
WOW, if these are the type of police officers we have serving citizens I'm concerned.

Some good advice and well said!
the sgt should actually come down to the stop to speak with him in person if you actually want to speak to him.
