Las Vegas Evo's
Z1's were discontinued by dunlop due to quality control issues. the star specs were re-introduced as a better tire. I believe them to be a much better tire, however, i have called 2 different places about them and they are hesitant to sell them as they are a problematic tire. Apparently the quality control has not improved much and there have been a lot of failures. If i was hearing this from one place i would assume that they just couldn't make money on them.. but the second place to basically tell me the same thing... (who knows maybe nobody makes money on them..)
Still have lots of open apts for detialing this weekend.
Have 2 cars I can do from 7-10 at Cars and Coffee, 2-4 and 4-6 on Sat.
Also have 8-10, 10-12, and 2-4 on sunday.
Will update as apts are booked.

The one guy i talked to about the star specs said that they are a great tire and do exactly as you guys describe. but mentioned that he had seen 3 different cars running those tires in which the tread started to rip off... i think this is what they were referring to quality control.... he also mentioned that if i wanted them it would take about a week as they are on back order everywhere. Mentioned somehting about tire rack pushing these tires on everyone... Anyway, i went with the hankooks. I will keep looking around. I might get the star specs for my other set of wheels.
I have my JDM Evo IX taillights now, so which one of you wants to take these 7 tails off my hands? There isn't a single thing wrong with them - no scratches, dings, nicks rubs, poop stains or anything.
Buy them now, b !tches!

Thats really weird. Everything that I have heard was the z1's were a great tire, and the star specs are a new compound that lights off a touch faster but still keeps its grip for the same amount of time (takes same amount of laps to get greasy) From the guys that are running them said they light off as fast as a 615 but dont get greasy nearly as fast. I wonder if your right, they jsut arent making any money on them.
Reo1s, or Yokos for street tires....
and with my REO1s dont get greasy and slick, the only thing that could be better with them is the sidewall could be quite a bit stiffer, but I have been compensating with camber and pressure.
Oh and to all the evo owners... if your not doing anything saturday night(ie have a leg. excuse) you had better be out discovering what your car can do in Primm....
