SCCA RFR TRACK TOUR!!!
I was there last year., they did it during my track permit class., we had to take an hour brake so SCCA can go play...LOTS of NICE cars and they were going fast too...not racing fast but enough to be happy., I'll be there if I dont have to work that weekend.

Got another question for you guys. If you remember I was planning on getting LICP, fuel pump, and a Mellon re-tune... Well my friend back in GA just called me and he's selling his HKS 272 cams since hes getting the AMS 2.3 RR and race head with switching out to the Jun cams. He's only charging 375 shipped, but I wouldn't be able to afford to have them installed until this summer when I get a job (or detail full time if i have enough customers) and can afford to get the fuel pump, install, timing belt and labor and headstuds. What would ya'll do?
I would get the LICP and have it installed. Then buy the fuel pump, cams, and headstuds to be installed at the same time, then a tune shortly after that. You will need a retune after your cams anyway, I wouldn't want to pay for one for the fuel pump then one for the cams. My .02
BTW, keep an eye on the private for sale section for cams. I see evo8 cams on there fairly often.

The reason i was going to go ahead and get the LICP pump and tune is because my current tune sucks. It was done at sea level back in GA and we had to "make" 91 octane by mixing 89 and 93. The shop that did the tune was helping correct it via email, but they won't return my emails anymore. So I need to get a good tune again.

If you have the parts ready and if I'm ever in the area again soon then I'd be more than happy to help you. I've done every single install in my car including the motor.
If your at least a little mechanically inclined I would say do everything yourself. It's really not that hard except for the timing belt. That could be a pain in the a$$. As far as a tune goes I'm surprised there's no one around there with a cable and software and the knowledge to do a decent tune...

jk. As far as the cam install goes I have full confidence in doing it myself (i have a degree in automotive tech), but I just don't have the tools to do it. As the timing belt goes the only reason I'd have a shop do it which is like you said its a pain in the ***
! So i was just going to take advantage of labor and have them do the cams as well.
Tripp, if you have time and some $, we should both drive down to Speed Element in norcal and see what they can do in terms of getting everything done to our Evos.
Over the weekend, my trusty daily driver Yukon decided to die on me, so I got a replacement.
