I take my evo out to Reno Fernely Racetrack. I just started doing the club trials which is kind of fun, also the hill climb out by Virginia city. They just started up a annual hillclimb called the Spectre 341 challenge that is kind of scary but alot of fun ripping up through the canyons on a closed off road.

 

do you have to have an HDPE license adn roll cage for that?

 

No, you can get into club trials w/out a license, a track 1 that is lol. The only requirements is a treadwear rating on tires a min. of 100, no need for a cage or anything just normal functional street car stuff.They do like you to have tow hooks maybe some other little things but pretty easy to get in really.

As for the hillclimb there are few things 1st of course is valid driver license/registration/insurance(street car), 2.5 lb fire extinguisher, SA2005 helmet, fire jacket, DOT tires and maybe some other little things. A more critical inspection is done for tire condition and overall vehicle safety.

 

Just checked out the 341 page again Jer.. Its going to be interesting to see what that 69 camaro "BIG RED" does. That thing was a beast in the silverstate classic breaking 200mph on more than one occasion. Guess they want to see how it turns now.

 

His car sounds super mean would be cool to watch coming up through the canyon. I think he ran over 210 in the Mojave mile last year when I was there pretty cool guy.

 

Damn it got faster.. Lol. That thing makes crazy power to push a brick like that to those speeds. I have herd that thing just shakes the ground even at idle.

 

Lol I hope not. I'll have to make sure I go 1st then so he doesn't make any rock slides onto the road haha. His car does make over 800 hp's.

 

Looking forward to this. I have been wanting to see this car in person for years.

 

Hey guys! Just wanted to say from Pensacola! Got out of boot camp about 2 months ago and I've been here for "A" school and I'll be here til December even though I graduate in October... .

Hope alls well with the Reno Evo crew and as soon as I get stationed somewhere hopefully the wife will let me get back in another Evo and she'll be driving my WRX (I hate that ****ing car... lol). Hopefully I can get back up to visit after "A" school as well.

 

Hey Tripp, at least the weather has been better there even though you prob. hate it lol. Good choice in getting another evo, you never really did get a chance to have any real fun w/ your other 1.
