The dude was nice enough to tell me to take it back to stock so they could take pictures and send em in. What a badass.

I feel bad that I'm going to take the car back and just do aftermarket pads myself now though... Swapping the springs is not an easy fun task. (He said he could probably take off the spacers and have it be no big deal, apparently those spacers would also "fail safety", but I think that's a bit ridiculous of him to say that).
I'd love to know which spacers they are? How springs and spacers involve themselves in "brake pads" is beyond me. Its not like you're asking for a wear item warranty on the struts.

This is the crap Subaru pulled just before I jumped from the WRX to the Evo. "Hi, I'd like to put on the Big Brake Kit like the STi has." "Oh, that'll unwarranty the whole drivetrain." - ok ... I'm sure you'll see this car next week as I sell it, and pick up an Evo that finally hit the US with all of the upgrades I want already done. Bye!

They're like 1.3" bolt on spacers of ridiculousness +5. They definitely affected the braking and the brake wear (as well as the handling). The springs, no, but the spacers, definitely. But no more than putting on some DOT legal R-comps would have.

Oh well. If the dealer is going to say "hey, heads up, this'll flag your car with SOA" I'm more than happy to come pick my car up and not have them do any work on it.

They even washed it for me.

The damn drawback is the windshield cracked while they had it, and they're saying it was a rock chip that was already there so they are only willing to pay for half my deductible. Whatever. I just wanted to get back to work.

Question

A couple questions I've been trying to refine in me head. Isn't it true that boost tells almost all, but not the whole story about a turbocharger?

Boost is an indication of "flow" but how does one begin to calculate flow? I'm thinking absolute pressure, temperature, and the motor accepts a volume of air that comes between roughly the compressor output and the filling piston volume?

Does this whole question relate back to the ideal gas law of: P*V = (nR)*T with
P: Pressure
V: Volume
nR: Mass (Constant) of Air - (which becomes the "number of Oxygen molecules we burn anyways)
T: Temperature

So we're solving for the highest nR we can get for Power which makes the equation:

nR = (P*V)/T ... so am I thinking that if we lower Temperature, or increase Volume or Pressure we can burn more nR? I think the Volume is effectively fixed (the motor and intake tract). So is the ultimate question that we want to increase Pressure, and drop T or at least keep T the same what we're really looking for?

Thanks!
