So someone dinged my bumper with a shopping cart or something, anyone have a good hookup for touch-up paint, or a good shop that could fix it for a good deal? The scratches aren't taller than a quarter, but the paint is all the way gone.
Up until last week, there was a super clean blue Evo VIII or IX parked in the same spot in the parking lot next to my office in Lindon.
This morning, I noticed the blue Evo was gone. Just now I stepped outside and there is a clean black Acura NSX with a 'Turbo Lab' sticker in the window parked exactly where the Evo was parked every day.
Did anyone here recently sell a Blue Evo and buy a black turbocharged NSX?

Ok guys so my wife is getting a new car tomorrow which means that I will no longer have to drive the evo everyday and put miles on it. Good news for the evo I hate putting miles on it. So anyways I plan on taking out my tranny this winter and putting In a new clutch. But I was thinking that since it's gonna be down all winter I figured I might as well rebuild my tranny. I know alot of you are gonna suggest the 5 speed but I am not looking at going that route I want to keep my 6 speed so no I'm not going to a 5 speed. Does anyone know if shep trans does 6 speed rebuilds or what? Or if anyone here knows someone local that can rebuild my tranny to with stand some abuse if I ever wanted to abuse it. Once again I don't wanna swap tranny's I wanna keep my car original parts.
So my car has been making a light thuding noise coming from the front right tire area also a slight bumpy feeling along with that. I took it in to the tire shop to check the alignment and to see if maybe I bent a rim on a pothole.
When they put it up on the lift the inside of the front tires were almost completely worn out while the outside on both still has a ton of tread left. Tomorrow they are putting on new tires and doing an alignment which will hopefully solve the problem.
I'm worried however that the same thing will happen to this set. Anyone have any idea what might be going on? The tire pressure has been a little low, but nothing too bad. Also when I bought the car a year ago I didn't check the tread on the inside so maybe it was a preexisting condition as I'm pretty sure the evo 9 didn't come with the 6 spoke einki rims that it has on it.

When it comes down to it, the 'extra' payment in shipping is really worth the effort to get it to Shep. The hardest part is finding a buddy to slide the transmission into the box, and they really do send you a very nice box for the cost. The 'only' transmission shop I would trust would be Aamco, but only that because they will charge you a bumload in extra cost for warranty. It'll probably be 1000 installation ... 800 dollars in parts ... and 400 in build, once they get the gear sets out. I digress.
You'll also what to perhaps explain to us your planned 'abuse?'
Probably over 50 percent of any standard transmission racerboi will toast at least one transmission just on shifting style alone. If you know what the capabilities of the car are, and what she'll handle, a transmission shift style can be part of the personality of the car.
One of the first things I do or suggest on any car is get rid of a "short shift" kit. Part of the shifting process is momentum, and most short shifters really suck at doing that. If you truly want to bang gears, the simplest (but not most flashy mod) is raising your shift linkage box. You see all of the good racers do it in the Evo, and at then they'll worry about putting in a heavier shift ball, or adjusting the linkage points.
RacerBois forever!

i dont plan on abusing my car ever except the occasional rmr test run every once in a while but i plan on hitting only 500hp before i stop doing more mods to my car. i dont wanna go to the 5spd because i mean i would be spending more money to convert the car than just having someone build my 6spd. i am trying to call sheptrans and see if they offer a 6spd upgrade and if they do i will probably end up going with them since they are well known for there trannys.
