Can I start a petition against God and sue for this damn weather? The car with snow tires drives like a king in the weather... The super weak clipped on front bumper being a snow plow does not, I get home and both sides are unclipped most of the way, not even sure how it held on (probably all the thick snow coated over it). So tomorrow I'll get to see if I can get it fastened back on decently or I'll have to go to the dealer before work and have them fit it back on... So lame. I need to get an undertray or something.
Why Subaru thought it was a good idea to make the entire bumper support the fasteners in the wheel wells on the fender liners and some plastic clips along the front is beyond me.

I'm under the belief that Subaru has a few elements the bean counters get to design and the support structures on some of the plastics are one of them.
Toyota actually makes partial sense with their underbody panels. My Evo VIII and Slowbaru apparently does not. Some pro race organizations I've seen get pretty **** about the front end fasteners and clips. Some guys that do titanium predrilled fasteners make some good bank.
I think I said a whole lot of nothing today.

If I were to convert to superbrights I would not run clear bra on them like my Pontiac G8.
In general, the most exposed rigid surface is the front of the hood. That'll chip with anything and clearbra is great there. In fact on the front edge of the roof is another good place for a small "strip." The bumper really doesn't chip easily, but because it receives the most direct stone chips, clearbra works great there. Plus I like not having to claybar the bejezus out of it, and simply use a good plastic polish like Plexus or HonPolish to brighten it up.
Don't shy away from 6 to 8 mil 3M clearbra. Its the best I believe. Some peeps will tell you to run thick, but thick is hard to put on, (which is half the battle) and between the new 3M stuff really doesn't protect better (and probably worse that its not 3M) than the 6 to 8 mil stuff.
My G8 has been the testing ground for the newer 3M stuff and after three years and two winters the stuff is really holding up well ... better than my Evo's stuff put on in 2003. Both still look better than no clearbra regardless.
Another trick is if you fill in all your little dots with some tender loving care and a really good prep-pen, light knowledgeable application of lacquer thinner, and a color matched and UV enhanced touch up paint, the clear bra even now will help the already chips look pretty darn good.

The only Subi specific meet I went to I went to to get a part from a guy, we both left shortly after that because it was lame. Most Subi owners rank only slightly above SRT owners, and most of the Evo crowd I've been around accepts everyone and likes all cars, which is why I rep the UtahEvos sticker on my car.

my old car I did headlights, hood, mirrors, in front of rear tires on panel
