haha i wasn't hating sorry, i just thought it was funny that you aren't including the cat that would be required to pass emissions - saying here's a free exhaust to pass emissions. that's all haha.
anyway, did some more work on the harness. interior harness was pretty much stripped down to the necessities.

i decided i needed the engine harness out at this point as well to trace the rest of the wiring and get it all done how i wanted. yes i will be de-pinning the wire tails from the connectors, they are just cut for now.

took about 3 hours to pull the engine harness out. now to remove the clips and looming on it and carry on!

there is no turning back now!! but by the looks of your car that was decided a long time ago
was wondering what suspension people are running, mine have a year at best left, and would like to start saving up now. anyone taking their evo to miller?
Ironically I work for the company that makes KONI, yet they don't make anything for evos.

Luckily, my neighbors are somewhat accustom to noise, the guy across the street builds supercharged LSx powered sand rails & won't bat an eye when rapping one out at 3am. A few years ago when I put my cams in I got it fired up about 2:30am and proceeded to fill the lash adjusters, that goofball heard me & fired up a rail then yelled across the street "mines louder than yours", we probably woke the whole neighborhood up...I know my wife wasn't very happy
I run Tein super racings but they came with car. To expensive for me to have purchased new. My buddy that also runs the lap battles is on Zeil's and does awesome. If your looking for some coilovers that areI track worthy, do a little searching on here...
Yea, appreciate it. I was running PIC in my del sol back in boston. Ride was stiff, but It didnt bothered me. Also they can take a beating, hit an unpaved man hole doing 40, bent the rim, but PIC took it like a champ.
I should have been more specific about it which inspection I was sure it would help pass (noise), and maybe looked it up to see if Utah's emissions test included a dB test as well.To be fair, I rarely drive it anymore & when I do I'm more likely to get an exhibition of speed ticket rather than a noise complaint. I would say 96% of the time when the car is pulled out of the garage it's out to be driven

Neighbor noise wars!
1.) Ride height is everything. If you don't do anything but get a set of springs to set the ride height properly you're 70% there for the suspension. It has to do with the roll center of the car, and the Evo f------- sucks when it comes to their choice of stock ride height.
2.) Everybody wants to run harder springs up front. They justify soft springs in the rear plus a hard swaybar. Here's the truth:
Put your soft springs up front, and hards in the rear and don't plan on using your rear sway 'except' for tuning, and even that lightly at best.
The best compromise spring that seems to be popular are 10kg fronts and 12kg rears. The best street feel is 8kg fronts and 10kg rears. Once I got used to 10kg and 12kg I like then better than 8kg front and 10kg rears.
I would not suggest anything harder unless I had 'some' valving, and if your stocks are wearing out, I wouldn't put on the 10kg/12kg combo. If you look hard you can find some pre-valved throwaway shocks with springs for 1k.
If you have an MR, yes you can find shops that revalve and refresh the Blisten's.
3.) The Evo actually handles best with a properly valved rear end. If you had to split an order for dampers, go for the rear first.
4.) The Evo will by body roll and snap actually feel slower, but that's what you want. The car rear end becomes "catchable" which is the exact thing you want for a race car. With no more power, you're actually faster.
Let us know how you fare.
