Ya tell me about it thats now the second time i've got a ticket for smoked tails and side markers ha. Is that just because you can't see as well when backing up?

That I've heard different things to. And Jorda420 could probably answer better... But I've heard both what you said and the fact that it changes the color of the light to something other than white. Essentially the conversation sparked when I got pulled over and the cop noticed my tail lights had the red film on them, however he said he didn't have to give me a ticket because I left the reverse lights clear and that blinker lights can be red. Which is why I find it odd you got one for your side marker lights, I've never heard anything about those needing to be anything in particular... Maybe it is because they are too dim then? I don't know there.

I got pulled over and fined a couple weeks ago because I made a change with my blinker on but I "didn't wait" the 2 seconds. Then he wrote me up for no front license plates too. Cop/UHP was being a total smart @$$. I miss CA cops sometimes, they're too occupied to bother with small stuff like that lol

Does anyone have a cabin air fan laying around for an Evo 8 or 9 that they want to donate/sell to me? Mine is going bad. LOL!

Uhm I have been pulled over 25 times and I can say most the cops are like this. I have only had a couple that were total douches, but then again those guys have to deal with the biggest pieces of **** on earth every day.

Well the rear ones are reflectors as well so I think that it takes away from those properties is why. We have to have those cuz the taillights don't have reflectors on the side like some cars. I can't remember if he wrote something for the front ones.

Wow that's pretty retarded. I've had 2 warnings for no front plate now but no tickets (knock on wood). The guy that got me just barely has actually pulled me over before. The first time he was a complete dick. Gave me a ticket for illegal tint, smoked headlights, smoked taillights, smoke side markers, tinted plate cover, third brake light tint, and warning for no front plate. Made me get out and walk around my car with him as he explained why all of it was illegal. He was nicer the second time tho.

Odd, it is 3 seconds you are supposed to wait when I took my driving school thing a few weeks ago. IMO you should have gotten pulled over, I hate people who flip on their blinker for half a second and then dash over just as much as the people who don't signal and just kinda drift in to the lane they want to be in.

However, I don't feel like you should have gotten more than a slap on the wrist. And certainly shouldn't have gotten a moving violation.

Where do you live that he wrote you up for no front plate? Most of SLC has gotten rid of that... At least that isn't a moving violation anyway.

Same. All it takes is showing them the respect they want and deserve and keeping them calm while remaining apologetic AND intelligent, like the person in the video. My friend got pulled over for suspected DUI (rear plate lights were out too) and had been heavily drinking. He passed all the tests, seemed sober, and blew a .078. The cop let him go with a warning and without even a ticket for the rear plate lights. Why? Because he's a nice honest guy. "You been drinking tonight?" "Yeah" is the smartest move you can make if you have really been drinking.

Yeah, believe me, I wrote the book on how to get out of tickets. I'm always polite and respectful. This cop was just straight up rude and talked to me like I was an idiot (and I was still super nice). Maybe I've just had bad luck? Back home cops will usually joke around with you and say stuff like "wanna race?" or "maybe you should get a geo" and let you go with a warning or they usually wouldn't even bother pulling me over. There are some douche cops but that's pretty rare. The rule of thumb was; if you could make them laugh, you got off. One year I got out out 9/10 speeding tickets (including doing 95 in a 65) so maybe my karma is catching up?

I use my blinker and wait 9/10 times while looking around and most people don't even bother blinking or respect the right of way. Some cops are cool, while other cops pick me out of the crowd because of the car or want their brownie points.

"41-6a-804. Turning or changing lanes -- Safety -- Signals -- Stopping or sudden decrease in speed -- Signal flashing -- Where prohibited.
(1) (a) A person may not turn a vehicle or move right or left on a roadway or change lanes until:
(i) the movement can be made with reasonable safety; and
(ii) an appropriate signal has been given as provided under this section.
(b) A signal of intention to turn right or left or to change lanes shall be given continuously for at least the last two seconds preceding the beginning of the movement."

Its 2 seconds now ... and for that matter ... not even officers obey this law. *joy*
Then again ... the "law" says they can be above the law on the road anytime they want. In other words, we allowed about 6 years ago to allow officers to break any driving law if they are on "normal" patrol ... which is just about anytime if they feel like it. "Do as I say, not as I do" comes to mind as a terribly good quote.

Oh how I loved how the Utah populace didn't even blink an eye when that law went into effect years ago.
