The d3100 is a great camera for the money. If she has any friends with dslrs, you may want to ask what they are using. The ability to swap lenses could be a big benefit. I'm more of a nikon guy myself, just my preference.

I am a big fan of Canon Cameras. My dad has a older Nikon (don't know the model) and its okay. My Brothers and I are all Canon camera fans. T1i, T2i are both my brothers and I have a 60D. Canon has my vote

in my 10 years of driving I think I have only had one with a spot for a Front license plate and it actually is the only one that did have a front plate on it. I only get pulled over for stupid fix it stuff like no mud flaps or fender flares

The rebel T1i, T2i, and T3i are all awesome and all fairly similar. I started off with a T2i and its easy to use

Ya its a secondary. Whenever I get pulled over for my illegal stuff I always get warnings for not having a front plate but never got a ticket for it. And that's coming from uhp too.

Side note: Anyone recall when we were talking about traffic laws, we mentioned front plates and I can't remember what our final decision was on them. I think it was that it had to be a secondary and they couldn't simply pull you over because of it... I just got pulled over and got a ticket for no front plate (which has never happened to me before). I wonder if it was because I was in downtown SL (where I hear they're more sticklers for that than elsewhere).

Yeah... that's what I thought, which is why it is weird. I guess the "warning" (if you can even call it that) for speeding was the primary...

Ugh I hate insurance companies. The adjuster came out today, and although he was nice he didn't really want to do his job. I had to leave for work, and he called me after I left to say I need to take it to a shop. I told him I've never taken that car to a shop, and I didn't want to now cuz once it left my possession I have no control over what happens to it. His response was "well there's a lot of stuff on this car that I don't know what it is and it's not in my computer". Ugh. Sooo any really trustworthy shops around here? I still do not want to send it at all, but don't think I have a choice. He said he was up to "8 or 10 grand", but I think it's gonna take a lot more than that.

Ya man sorry about the who situation I know what your going through

I do a little body work and stuff here and there and I know the estimation process and precises okay. I agree with you on it being more than 10k. I would say 12-14k and I think they may total it.

Mine car books for $18-19.5k on KBB Stock and $18,475 on NADA Stock. Thats not including the aftermarket parts on it ether.

My insurance company said based of local pricing for the car it bring my cars value down to ( wait for it) $15,152.41 I was like WHAT THE F($*!!!

The total estimated cost for everything on my car is just over $14k so they totaled the car.

The incident happened on Jan, 28 of this year. It is now the 6th of March and we have still not settled on a price I am fighting with the insurance company to get the value more correct and closer to what my car books, since at the time when I bought the car I paid book for it. ( almost 4 years ago in May) It has lower miles for the year and I almost have it paid off. I don't want to lose all that hard earned money I spent on my car just because they say its only worth X amount when it should be a different amount.

They just try to get out of having to pay more than what they should and screw the customer in the end

This is the last word I heard today after nothing since last week.

to me

Nope, I called the changes in on Friday and I didn’t get an email or call back from them rejecting the comps again so I assume they are processing them. Thanks for checking in.

-Russ)

"Thanks for checking in" I have to contact them to see whats going on and whats up not them doing there jobs and notifying me with updates on what they are doing for me in this situation.

I had to find local car for sale like mine and email them all the info on them and it had to be from car sites (Like Autotrader.com or Cars.com) not places like KSL.

The hard thing is there are no 04 Evo 8 SSL package Evos around here so I had to look further and sure enough I found 5 with my same setup and about the same miles (With in 10K) and guess what. They are all for sale in the $17-20k price range. All of which where pretty much stock with minor bolt on's and none with what my car has/ had on it.

All I can say is I hope your dealing with the insurance company go smoother than mine

Cool man. Is yours for sale tho

What is KBB and NADA on your car? Mine has 60,366 miles on it. So it books in the 17-19k still I am sure yours would be the same maybe a bit more since I think you are lower miles than me. Now lets say your insurance company said they will only give you 15k on it. + They wont give you anything since you dont have the extra coverage on your car like most people don't. PS most insurance companies only cover up to $1000 in aftermarket parts if you don't have the extra coverage. How would you feel then knowing that your are getting screwed out of 2-5k

At least my car is still a clean shell and wasn't in a major accident or any accident for that matter I know whats left is still good on mine for when I buy it back
