Don't you have to like wire your oil drain bolt or something like that too? Damn it would be scary as hell to go of the course! Do people wreck out there a lot?

Haven't posted on here in a while, this is kind of a sucky thing to have to post.
My fiance was driving my car to work this morning and slid off the road into a gaurdrail. 99% sure it's totalled :s Has anyone bought back an Evo from insurance? I don't think it would be worth repairing, I didn't get a good look at it other than the front is pretty smashed, but at first glance the frame looked like it might have bent a little.

Sad sad day. 2005 RS, 62000 miles.

aaaannnd this is why we always give a briefing on how to drive the evo before those special someones get in them to drive. goodness. we know it wasnt her fault, but still sucks. i hope it all works out for you and glad she is ok as well. as far as buying it back, if the frame is bent i think its a total loss unless they have a frame specialist repair it. either way, i know that your insurance will probably say the same to you as they did with dallin and me. they priced each of our cars to whats considered market value. so look at what evo's around here are going for and make sure that they look for evo pricing as well and not just regular lancer pricing.

Thanks for the info. The funny thing is she's been driving the car a while, and just last night we had the bad weather discussion. I think she just hit a big patch of snow/ice and froze up, forgetting what we discussed.
The adjuster is coming monday. I need to look closer at the car, but the intercooler and piping might be salvageable, and I'm hoping the turbo kit is too. I have like 15k in upgrades/etc in it, so if I bought it back and could sell some of it for even a third that it might work out, but I'm not getting my hopes up yet :s

^ That dealership is a joke. A co worker of mine just bought and Evo 8 from them and its a piece of ****. They tried to tell him they can't negotiate pricing, that they only make 500 of a sale. Well, he surely wasted 20,000 and now is having tranny problems.

My roommate bought his back for about $2000 i believe, and rebuilt it and it runs and drives just fine, i'll have to ask him how much he bought it back for exactly. Keep in mind tho he's from texas so he still has his insurance from texas, idk if that makes any difference at all, but they paid him enough money to pay off his loan and get it all fixed and painted.

It's priced extremely high? At least that's the first thing I noticed considering I sold mine for $24,500 w/ 2 sets of rims and tires and $6k in parts. This is a nicer trim package, but the mileage was the same.

damn, thats pretty harsh, ur rails are done fore:/ i used to work at a body shop, and thats some pretty harsh stuff right there, you might be able to find the whole front clip off of another one like my roommate did, then you could replace those front rails, I think that might be the hardest part is finding those rails, but hope you get it all figured out and get somewhat of a decent check from your insurance:/ good luck with that man, and glad your girl is ok.
