Am I incorrect here? (Looking forward to MAP soonish also.)
Or ... is the stock IAT sensor located in the MAF unit, and needs to be effectively moved closer to the TB? BTW, would the IAT work better inside the manifold or just before it?
I believe Ideally you would want it inside your Intake manifold. I might Drill a hole in my OEM one I have, weld the bung to it and do that.

Let me know on the price and I would like the Open element IAT

Like this.

As opposed to this.

Closed element.

For the best results use a new sensor, It is possible to use the fuel temp sensor in place of the IAT but the results won't be as good. As for wiring the GM sensor you have two options..the factory IAT input or hi-jack the Fuel temp sensor input, Mine is wired through the Fuel temp circuit(evo 8 ECU pin 77)since I was logging MAT before SD was available. While I'm thinking of it, you DO NOT need to be on any sort of tephra ROM to run SD.

That harness is cute but a waste of money
Ya I agree and am just going to wire in my own since everything needed minus the wire is provided in this kit I found. I was shown this web site by a friend and I think I am going to possibly go this rout and order a extra sensor as well since I like to have spare parts

http://www.diyautotune.com/catalog/g...tor-p-116.html

Josh what do think about installing the sensor somewhere inside the main plenum of the Stock intake manifold? I was going to drill is and weld a bung to it and possibly install it on the bottom side of the manifold for a clean look.

Oh and do you know if the stock ECU can be tuned and pass Emission with the EGR block off and not installed? I would like to delete my EGR all together, but I would still need it to pass emission with the ECU. Can it be done?

Installation in the plenum is fine, some people believe heat soak is an issue, however, GM installs these sensors in the manifold so they are probably designed for it. My IAT is in the plenum & haven't really had any issues...'05-'06 model years have a boss next to the MAP sensor that can be drilled & tapped. Yes, you can run no EGR & still pass.

Ya I thought it would be fine since most GM cars have it installed in there intake manifold as well. I am going to have my manifold ceramic coated to keep heat soaking issues down. So yes it can be tuned out of the ECU so there will be no issue when I do the test?

Have you have done this on any cars like tuned for it when they deleted it?

Well I could get you the actual gm one for employee price but I'm thinking the aftermarket one is cheaper.

another couple questions with SD setup. i'm doing new IC piping and intake also. still using the stock bov, it will go between the upper IC pipe and intake like how it currently is, with the vacuum port to the IM.
1) do i need to (or 'should' i) have the 3 port BCS vent to atmosphere or should i add a port to go to the intake like how it currently is?
2) the vacuum line going from the intake mani to the intake, same thing, do i need it/should i put the port on the intake or just cap the port on the IM?

Hey guys, I'm wanting to get back into an Evo IX but there are rarely any listed locally.
I check cars, autotrader and KSL daily. Anyone know of any 9's for sale or considering a sale?

Thanks

Any evo owners want to trade some Evo seats for a vintage 1979 Moped with roughly 300 original miles? I was thinking about selling it to buy some seats but thought I would just toss the trade idea out to the local guys before selling the moped. Moped runs fantastic by the way. 1979 Columbia Commuter.

Just vent the 3-port to atmos.

Do you mean valve cover to intake?
