based on what i've read about GST and from the short convo i had with them earlier, i'd definitely feel better going to them for such a major job. so depending on what i hear from Capitol tomorrow, i may be going to GST.
I had GST do my motor rather than try the warranty route. If your planning to upgrade the car then your just going to get another factory motor and be back at the same factory part limitations.
Build it now save yourself the trouble in the future.

since it sounds like they are going to handle this, i'm going to wait and see what they say. also, i don't want to keep paying for a rental car, so i may not have a car on monday to head over to Hayward.
i definitely want to check out your shop and chat with you some more though and thanks for your advice earlier in the week.
Mitsu has decided that the problem was isolated to cylinder one, so they are going to rebuild that cylinder. i asked about replacing the oil cooler, since it seems like it must have gotten metal shavings in it, and they said that they checked it and it was fine.
not quite sure how they can know that and it doesn't give me a good feeling about things... they did say that they will do an engine flush and do multiple road tests and oil changes before giving it back to me though.
wonder if they'll give me a good deal on trading it in for an Evo X.
