were does everyone get tuned? My car was tuned in KC (900 ft), so when I bring my car back in DEC, i'm going to need a tune bad. I drove my wrx from KC to UT and the 4000 ft elevation was horrible, my car ran like it was NA. I know COBB does tuning but don't feel like spending an arm and a leg for a tune. I am still using the stock ecu for now and plan on using it for a long time.

Were you tuned on the ECU on your Subaru? And on your Evo? As far as I remember, the ECU adjusts for the elevation (air pressure) changes just fine on it's own (it does the same thing stock, after all). But maybe I've been incorrect in believing that all along, at any rate, my Evo never had a problem going up or down in elevation.

Were you up in the mountains in the subaru? The air is thinner there, so the turbo has to work harder no matter what your tune is like. Also, did you have a boost gauge and notice a decrease in boost? I noticed a drop of about 2 psi when I'd go up skiing (another what... 4000 ft i think?) in the Evo, and that would drop power.
You should do a before and after dyno of the Evo to see if it makes that big of a difference, I doubt that it will, but like I said, I'm no pro. The air is just thinner up here, so the hp is going to suffer. That's why 1/4 mile times are slower, even on a stock car (whose ECU adjusts for the air/climate, just like yours will with ecuflash).

So who's going to tooele tomorrow. I might just head down there myself. Seems like we might be getting some actual "winter" weather this time around and also judging by the time sheet I just saw on miller's site, we need more evo's out there. Stupid STi's haha jk jk....
