My tires are Continental ContiExtreme all season tires, with a decent amount of tread left on them.

That is a weird, I am running the exact tires and have not really had any issues. Maybe it was just really icy, all seasons don't work very well on ice.

I didn't seem icy. The snow was fresh and it had been warm out yesterday, so I don't think the asphalt had gotten cold enough to start freezing snow. Even if it was, like I said the snow was pretty fresh so it would have had to freeze pretty quickly. I think what may have happened is I went over some of the white paint used for crosswalks. That may have been slick enough to cause my car to lose control, and after that it was over.

Oh well, I don't think the damage it too bad, it looks like just the bottom urethane piece of the front end got screwed up a little, but I may be able to just pop it back in. If its too much damage I'll just replace it with a carbon fiber piece instead of repainting the original or buying a new one.

I'm going to have to get it to a shop to see if the wheels are bent or if any damage occured to the front suspension. And then see what the hell happened to my alarm.

These are a couple of pictures. The front isn't too bad, but the driver's side front and rear wheel are worse than I thought...

Yes, I hope so. There doesn't appear to be any paint damage along the rear, side skirt, or the front, so I think I may get off easy on that one.

The wheels are fubar as far as I can see, I don't think that can be polished out.
So, I don't know exactly how much new wheels cost, but I may be able to go after market on some black wheels for just a little more.

The wheels don't look bent, and I'm hoping the means the suspension isn't screwed up.

By the way, anyone have any good suspesion shops they would like to direct me to.
Not for free or anything, I'm not looking for a handout so I'm willing to pay, I just want to know if anything needs to be fixed.

Hopefully I don't have anything major other than the wheels, and if this is the case I won't have to alert my insurance.

I've had the same problem occur with my EVO and those Contis.

But knowing the intersection where it happened to me ... there were about 10 other cars that went sliding right up to the stop sign too. So I still think Contis are the best All-Season for a Utah winter.

Where I started sliding was about a 1/2 deg. downhill, with frozen water under a little snow, and at was going about 1mph ... in other words I was almost stopped. The road had some compression ridges (big construction trucks had been on that tarmac all summer), and more importantly, wasn't plowed, nor salted very well. This may have been due to the fact that our city doesn't plow next to the university roads, and the university is "supposed" to take care of it. I dunno.

Anyways ... I was appaled that I started sliding at a freekin' 1mph too.

Sorry that you smacked your rims, and bumper.

jcnel.

P.S. I'd ultimately save up for some rims, and use the Enkei's as winter rims. Also ... for about 120 per wheel, you can get companies that refinish and retrue rims for you. They can add material, but then you usually have to end up repainting them all so that they end up looking the same. There are plenty of powdercoat services in SLC ... I'd mebby go that route. When you get some new rims. 0.02.
