Utah Evos

I want this truck
Saw a silver Evo in Ogden rolling with a silver STi last night. Directed him here, so we'll see.
Also, ran my *** off to save a yellow 8 with a yellow glove sticker from a runaway shopping kart at K-mart in Layton today
Mind's made up, I am gettin another 8 or 9 when I get back from my next deployment and gonna try and get Jason to build me an intercooler

Alright Dallin now if you can get your car running....weirdest thing man, I ****ing hate dealing with tracing down wires n **** like that to see what the problem is. If it was something like a stereo or meth kit then well that's easier fix but what you got the mystery problem
wonder what kind of gearing this guys got to reach 186 in a evo 8 ...300khm/186mph

I love big *** trucks, and those damn tires are 44"x22"!!
If I had $4k, I would so buy it right now, then buy a pos car that doesnt run and is all rusted out just to drive over it!

it's like 800 out of 1000I've heard nothing but good things about left 4 dead...too bad that's the only reason I'd own a 360 again
How long have you been in the "turning" world? Slicks are not R compounds. I had R comps for most of my racing time in the Evo, at the very end, I got slicks. The slicks shaved another good chunk of time off... mmm loved those tires.
R comps are DOT legal. Usually they get hot quicker than slicks, sometimes have a bit of tread, and they tend not to be able to take nearly as much abuse.
Toyo RA-1s, R888s, Kumho V710s, etc, those are all R compounds. Typically they also come in normal tires sizes, 245/40/18, 275/35/18, etc.
Slicks on the other hand are the tires used in nascar, Le Mans, Porsche Cup racing, etc. They do not have any tread at all (not even circumferential grooves), take about a lap or two to get hot enough to be sticky (they are very solid otherwise) and are very very dangerous to drive in any sort of rainy condition. They are not DOT legal. And they will easily make an Evo VIII with JICs, TBE, and tune be able to keep up with a factory Carrera GT.
People often call treadless or nearly treadless r-compounds slicks. And technically all r-comps are slicks, but not all slicks are r-comps. And in conversation slicks usually is talking about non-r-compound tires. But I'm pretty sure since DOT tires are required for auto-x that to you, slicks are just r-compounds, and you never even think of the higher grade stuff.

there was a porche GT3 out there on r compounds only going about 1-1.5 seconds faster than me on drop springs, rear sway and azenis. I know if i would have had R comps i would of been 1st or second in my class
I can't get my USB to serial converter to work on my laptop! Any Vista pros? I installed the driver from the CD provided first, I restarted it, plugged the USB in, and it does not work with evoscan.

It's a fun game to play with friends... Too bad it's another stupid "only two players per Xbox" game. ****ing Microsoft. Buy it for the PC if you ever think of getting it Wes. I only have the Xbox for Xbox only games (GoW II and Fable II were the most recent). Otherwise: PC (typically) > PS3 > Xbox 360.
I hate my Xbox so much. Almost started liking it again when my friends and I got the idea that we should have two xboxes to play 4 people (2 on one, 2 on the other, split screens) on COD: WaW to play **** Zombies locally with 4 people... Unfortunately, yet again, another game that won't allow more than 2 people, so 2 xboxes = 2 people full screen, no split screen option. Thank God the girl at GameStop was chill and let me return it for in store credit, I was pissed.
Ah, well that makes sense then. I'm pretty sure none of them run what I was talking about, as I don't think there are any made that get hot enough within even one full autocross run, if you ever get a chance to feel an r-compound side by side with a regular tire and what I am calling a slick... then you'll really know the difference (for a rough example, go find a solid piece of plastic, like a laptop case or something... that's what a slick feels like cold, even pushing your fingernail into it). So, in the autocross world r-comps are probably always called slicks, like I said, it has been awhile since I've been into the competitive part of auto-x.
And that's awesome then that you are near the top of SM! SM was always an insane class when I was into it all. SM2 was what our S2000 was in and we never stood a chance. So
to you for sure! (I'm serious too). Have you done any other mods other than what's listed in your signature? Like weight reduction?
And a triple thumbs up to leaving the drag world and entering the real world
Autocross is tons of fun, and a very rewarding sport. I had loads of fun just doing two runs that few weeks ago that I went to the end of an event. Quite a different experience from the track too (not harder/easier, just different, hell I don't even claim that drag racing is easier considering how bad I suck at it).

Everyone person out there calls R compounds "slicks".
