Welcome, and inFamous should be done downloading now, I'll probably borrow Prototype from ya sometime to try it out since we rarely rent from Blockbuster anymore we ususually don't have free rentals.

Advan vs. Volk wheels

Anyone around here running Advan RS or Volk RE30? If so how do you like them and do you know a place that might have some 18x9.5 +35 in stock? I know its a fat chance, but i'm sure someone has an inside scoop. I've checked with many vendors around and it's looking like the end of July as the soonest for some Advan's. Also do you think Advan's are comparable to the Volk on the track?

Enkei NTO3+Ms

Now if you want pretty wheels to drive on the track and around town with, that's when you think of Volk etc. Lightweight, strong, cheap (as far as wheels go) and pretty easy to get. IMO there's no reason to get anything else, and with all the racing teams etc that use the same wheel, I've gotta be on to something Vesko was the one who recommended them to me for the Evo and I was fully satisfied, if I can easily pick up a wheel and toss it around you KNOW it is lightweight

I have a few friends that have them and Really like them. A Friend that has some Advan RS uses them only for around town. He has A Set of Enkei NTO3's for the Track and Loves them.

Ya I say the Volks and Advans for the Price are more for the looks because if you mess up one of those at the tack you are out around $550-$900 for one wheel I really like Enkeis since they are lighter, Cheaper, and just as strong too My Vote for Race wheels is Enkei NTO3's or RPF1's

Looks like the Enkei NT03's 18x9.5 weigh about 20 lbs though. Big difference compared to the 17 lbs on the 18x9.5 Volks CE28N (which is what I think I am gonna go with) Pricey...but everyone seems to think they are worth it. This is for a pure track car so the 12 lb difference in unsprung weight will make a difference.

Ya Well I would go with them too if It was in my budget to spend what they cost. The RPF1 are about 17lbs in that size Try Gruppe-s.com They should have some in stock of be able to get them fast

Dallin, sometimes I worry about you... Are you not capable of getting on I-15 and heading north to that exit?

For a pure track car, if you're willing to spend the extra money on Volks, spend the extra money and just get CCWs and call it done.

The RPF1 is also a very good wheel, and if they're the same weight as the Volks I'd say go for it. 12 lbs in unsprung weight is great to remove... but I don't think it's worth an extra grand or two unless you're planning on getting into something REALLY competitive. Or you're loaded.

Hay wait, 5x114.3? Isn't that the same size as the '08 STi? Do the Evos and my car have the same bolt pattern?

its pretty simple to get to layton just follow the freeway to centerville from orem. all you have to do is follow I215northbound until it merges onto I15northbound. when it finally merges onto I15 the centerville exit will be about 8 miles or so its the exit before lagoon.... that is where target is located. then all you have to do is follow everyone else to layton and thats that....
