Utah Evos
Oh and the deal fell through with the last person... So I have lowered the price on my car to 22k, tell all your friends!
And Ben: I'll have to check on the price to accurate on how much I'd sell it and all the parts for it for.

Anyone planning on going out to the SCCA PDX June 9th & 10th? I should almost definitly be there the 10th to instruct, and depending on this whole car situation I might be there the 9th as well.
in case anyone wanted to know autocross was pretty sweet today. it was the biggest event that they have had in many years there ended up being 163 entrants today. here is a vid of the course from a turbo miata http://youtube.com/watch?v=WyhoED2QTpg
its funny because this kid has been talking **** on evos for so long saying that they are dumb and over priced and that they are ricey bla bla bla and i beat him by 6.1 seconds today and told him to talk s*** after he got within 3 seconds of me haha. btw i got 6th sm out of about 30 odd cars, and was the fastest evo out there again! lol mike and dallin did pretty well though and matt guiver made an apperance and raced

oh and what is a good brake pad for street/track. i was thinking the ferodo ds2500 as i have been reccomended to get that by a few people. they are pretty pricey though. do i need to do rear pads at the same time or are just fronts fine? thanks
I would just get an HT10 or DTC70 and swap them at the track. Very easy to do, and allows for use of tame street pads when not tracking.
If you must have a double duty pad, i would go with the Hawk HP+.
you are right then i just assumed seeing that noone that was in my run group was close that i was the fastest. the second fastest evo time i saw was a 72.xx i ran a 70.7 so you beat me by .2 seconds. i was mad about only getting 4 laps because i wasted one thinking we would get 5. also on my fastest go around, coming around the last turn when i tried to drop it into 1st gear i missed and ended up in nuetral and lost that run. my fastest was my 2nd as i wasted my 1st learning the course then screwed up on the last 2 but w/e good job. are you going out to the two events next weekend?
Thanks guys for the replys! I will have to check with that shop- as far as fender rolling, a lot of people here on evom have had problems with the paint "stretching" from when you roll the fender and it pulls on the paint... but with a heat gun people have pulled it off ok- I might be alright on 275's until I go to coilovers.. I'll have to check... going to be a little while now until I have the money for new rims.. I have an engagement ring to pay for! lol
I had three different corners where I had to fight the transmission into first. I've found the Evo to be VERY sluggish when revving for downshifts; if you don't stab the throttle hard, you aren't getting in. My first run was spent blowing corners by coming in too hot just about everywhere. The rest were consistently faster with my last just driving with complete disregard.
I'll be out this coming weekend, probably in the Evo again.
Please let me know if you can actually get rolled without damaging the paint. I won't be going beyond a 255 until I had figure out how to get the roll done and still have nice paint.

There's another autox this weekend? Jeez-laweez.
Anyway, Riley, I don't know where you are looking at the DS2500s but for the full set they are cheaper than the OEM fronts. They're what I use as my street pads, but I wouldn't use them on the track. As for the track, its too easy to swap them out to not have a dedicated track pad, I use DTC70s right now, they're great, but I've always loved Cobalt... Last time I needed to order pads they were switching their formula so they didn't have any in stock. Oh and switch the rears too, they're just as easy (if not easier) to switch than the fronts and if you don't you may end up losing your rear pads after one session.

I dislike the DS2500 for street driving. They will stop you, but are sort of dead when cold. I ran 5 track days last year on DS2500 fronts and OEM rears and the car took it all the while. I swapped to OEM fronts after the track days. The rears wore unevenly, but had 24000 miles on them when I tossed them. The fronts had about half life, but were disintegrated, so I tossed them in favor of something I knew would live.
This year I switched to PF rotors, PFC97 fronts, and Endless Vita Nuova rears. Even better stopping power but it definitely needs to be swapped before driving on the street. I am still using my OEM fronts for the street.
Please keep in mind that my power levels are lower since I haven't done anything for power, really, and I'm running street tires.

Got a speeding ticket yesterday and this one is going to put me over the edge. I'm already struggling to afford the evo so I"m going to sell my car. 2006 GG IX MR. If anyone in Utah is looking for one let me know. I want to get rid of it ASAP.
