Fortunately, there's a simple solution. We've got vendor accounts for this type of activity and it helps avoid any confusion.

I love that video, Top Gear is the best, and if it weren't for following it religiously I'd get really sad watching that video.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...27566273079421

Here's the next minute or two you are missing, where they test the base Evo X (not the FQ360 that Jeremy drives in the video you posted) and the STi with the Stig driving. Guess which car is faster? Guess how close they are?

1:28.9 Evo VIII (for reference)
1:28.22 Evo X GSR

Aaaaaand, drum roll please...

1:28.20 STi

Not saying either is worse or better by any means, just saying that the video you posted only proves that Jeremy likes the Evo X more. The only thing it even comes close to proving is what I've been saying for years has a "chance" of being true: The cars are nearly identical in performance. I've driven plenty of old STis and Evos on track, they drive very differently, yes, but they perform very similarly when the whole picture is put into play.

The major thing they miss too is that with the best of tuners an otherwise factory X will likely make at least 20 more whp than an otherwise factory STi. There's more room to grow with the 4B11, as there is with the 4G63.

Even when I had the VIII I was an avid "equal rights" supporter, when all the Evo guys were coming on with articles and what not showing how the Evo was clearly "faster" than the STi, I was always the one jumping in saying "Yeah, and what tires do they both have on?" The factory tires on the VIII and IX were worlds beyond the factory tires on the old STis, I mean... they were 225s to start... One magazine did a test (I can't prove it, so don't believe me if you don't want to) where they put exact equal tires on otherwise stock of both, and basically through all the tests they tied. The Evo won a little over half (yes, a little over) and the STi won a little less than half IIRC. Tons of tests too, 200 ft skid pad, 700 ft skid pad, track, drag, wet course, slalom, etc etc.

Regardless, no STi will ever have the badass airbrush job you have on your diamonds I wonder if I could do something sick like that, like a starry sky or something to go along with the original Suby emblem.
