That's why my 18's have street rubber, and my 17's have race rubber. My 17's only weigh 14.something lbs.

really
i had been wondering about that. i had been told me to get 17"s.

what is the conflict? don't the tire companies produce race rubber for the 18"s. or, is it the overall circumference of the wheel and tire togther?

14lbs.???
what kind of wheels do you have on your car and what size?
the volk te37's 17x8.5 weigh 15 something
the only thing i have seen lighter are the magnesium forged rims in that size

My LE37's in 18x8.5 weigh in at 16lbs. If you compare the overall size to the stockers, there is a very miniscule difference in the two. I don't see what the big deal is on 18's give crappy performance and 17's don't. It's all about opinion I guess.

18 inch tires are heavier. They are bigger. In general that is!

If I went, everyone would be making fun of my 16 sec. quarter mile passes instead. I think I'll stay home and let you take the heat.
