Calling out BIG turbo gurus.... (Rob,Zach, whoever....)

Which kit do you guys recommend???

I'm lookn at the RnR GT35R kit. Is this one any good? Or is there something else better??? I like the RnR kit right now cause the price is very good. They're having a group buy and it's gonna be in the low 3s (full kit)

Any advice from your "Professionals" would be appreciated!!!

oh no your looking @ turbo kits i'm far from a professional but from what i have gathered is the gt-35r is the best turbo for the evo for daily drivers/strip cars as far as rnr that is what sold me was the price but he had horrible customer service my dp did not fit had to modify it myself... when he sent the kit not all of it was there so i would give rnr a thumbs down personally.
i think by far ams makes the best turbo kit combo available
full race is very nice as well if you want a good turbo kit buy one from someone proven so you will get the results you desire.
i know you want to road race with it so maybe a 3076 or something would be more suited to your needs. i know scott has been looking alot lately so i'm sure he can pitch in a few comments & of course rob also.

Ray, I have been looking alot, as Zach stated, by far the best kit I have found so far for the price would be the Buschur or Shearer Fabrications kit that has just been released. As soon as Heather get's the girl's done , it's on. The Buschur kit for a GT3076 retails for 3100.00, which come with a cast manifold and the Shearer which comes with a tubular manifold for 3800.00. For 3900.00 you can upgrade to a GT35R. I beleive the Buschur GT35R kit retails for 3300.00. As far as I can see without purchasing an AMS kit, these two kits are probably the best bang for your buck as far as quality is concerned.

Ray, just buy a manifold from either full-race or AMS, and I can get you the turbo for a pretty decent price. With your knowledge it won't be hard putting the oil and coolant fittings together, and you can purchase a dp from ams or full-race. I think you could do a full GT-35R kit with a high quality PROVEN header for under 3K. If you are serious, pm me or give me a call and I can let you know pricing on a turbo so you can see if it's something you want to do. The GT35R is a proven track turbo especially with a good driver, I really think that the difference in spool between the 3071, and 3076 isn't worth the additional power that you can get with the gt35r, unless you're racing on a really tight track.

Wow i got both Zach and Rob!!! WooHoo. And then Scott as a bonus!!!

Well the reason why i looked at the RnR kit is that the price seemed very good on their group buy. Low 3k range is what has been mentioned. So i wanted to jumjp on this while it was out there. But if as you stated Rob, that you can do a kit for under 3k well then the RnR just seems okay and that i don't need to rush.

So you know i DO NOT have a car yet for this kit. I just wanted to get it (as stated earlier) cause it "seemed" like a great deal. It'll also be nice to have all the parts just sitting there when i eventually get the car.

Also another tough choice is that i really want the Evo9 but tuning one right now seems to be a tough task. I know it'll eventually be a complete no brainer but i hate waiting. Plus i also want cams for it but who knows how long that'll take. The Evo 05 MR i was thinking about is still for sale but the guy hasn't pmed me back on my last pm to him. It's starting to smell kinda fishy to me.

Anyway, i'm just getting all my duckets lined up...

Thanks Zach, Scott, and Rob for the advice. As soon as i get closer, I'll be giving you a call Rob!

And Scott GOOD LUCK with your car!!!! But i have no idea why you want to throw money at a car that just sits and looks pretty??? You might as well just take your cash and stack it in the garage and let it sit there. That'll pretty much accomplish the same thing without the headaches!!!

BTW, anyone have any hangover pills? I have a feeling i'm gonna need them when i wake up in six hours...

Go to Jamba Juice and get a wheatgrass shot. It works wonders. I tastes like you are sucking on a lawnmower but it helps alot.

You should have had chaser

Ben, i DO NOT recommend rolling your fenders! Cut ot shave them instead! When rolling the fenders it will flake the paint off and that can spread to the outer part of the fenders (not good). Best way to cut or shave is to line how much you want to cut off with tape and use that as your guide. when finished, spray paint it so it won't rust. just be real careful whatever you cut it with cause if you slip you might cut or nick the outside part of the fender (i've done it)

I should have been a little more clear. This is for my Impreza L. I put the old snow tires from the EVO on it and they rub a lil. The paint on it is not a issue. A few cracks might actually make it look better.
