Anybody ever used Gasket Remover to strip, i've heard it works better than aircraft stripper?

 

Acidy stuff? Is it really safe for the wheels still? I'll do it out on the street Of course. With gloves, and old clothing and a mask on.

I NEED TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm trying to get things together for the track next weekend and realized i have winter tires on the car. I have a friend that is selling me some Michelin Pilot Sport tires but only 2. I can't find a matching pair anywhere (used). If anyone has any tires for a stock rims that I can buy/borrow/used etc. that would be awesome. Unless they are 255/40/17 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's I will need all 4. If they happen to be the michelins, i would only need 2. Thanks.

By the way, I'm looking for 235/45/17, 245/40/17, or 255/40/17. The can be almost all used up. They just need enough to survive a track day (and remember this is my first track day so I prob won't be as hard on them as say Jake).

Jake, do you know if you are going to be instructing at the SCCA day? That would be cool if you were there. Someone who understood the Evo.

Don't have any dealings but i did talk to a guy at solid autoworks that used to work there and he was really cool, can't remember his name now. They are over priced tho if you look around you can find better deals usually.

hey everyone. anybody know how to tell if a throwout bearing is disingaged. i thought it was and i got a gap between my trany and block about a half inch but its like its binding up on something in the middle. what is it supposed to look like through that little peep hole in the bottom of the case?
