Works ECU
I'm very interested in getting the 93 octane re-flash. My plan is to keep my EVO stock for as long as I keep it.
I still have a few concerns though:
1) Is the 93 octane flash optimized to its fullest? I know companies out there sometimes rush to get their products out fast to get ahead of their competition. Which is fully understandable. But I would absolutely HATE to have to remove the ECU again and ship it out to them to get it re-flashed.
2) No issues whatsoever with emissions?
3) Is there ever a chance of losing the flash? Or having it reset itself back to factory defaults?
4) Are their ANY warranty VOID stickers near or around the ECU which could possibly prove the ECU was tampered with? Either with the removal or re-installation?
Outside of that....I like what I've been hearing so far from other EVO owners.

Due to variations in cars, temps, and geography/altitude, I doubt any sensible tuner will ever do mail-order upgrades optimized to the fullest. Not sure about the emissions, but WORKs can probably tell you for sure.
As far as losing the flash, the only way that could happen is if the dealership did a re-flash for warranty/repair purposes. If this were to happen, your biggest inconvenience would be shipping the ECU back to David for re-re-flashing. David did mention to me that if this scenario did occur that he would take the ECU back to the last stage of re-flash you had paid for.
My ECU did not have any stickers or tamper-proof seals that I could see anywhere on the unit itself or the mounting bracket. Basically the ECU and metal bracket can be shipped together and the ECU is never opened..just downloaded into.
I am also pretty interested in seeing what the exhale, aperature and re-flash re-tune results look like on the dyno. David mentioned that the exhale on a stock EVO netted 10whp and the aperature 9whp. Typically standalone mod gains don't add-up to the same total gain when used together with other mods.
Optimized through more ECU tuning however, perhaps 45whp is possible as a package? Add a DP and you should see 55-60whp I would guess.
