you're still not giving anyone the much anticipated possible HP gains... even a rough estimate is better than nothing... like... "expect anywhere from about 5-10 hp and 7-14 tq gains throughout the entire band" or something...
anyhow... no news isn't good news, it's still just no news! good news is good news! there's no other way around that... and i don't have any bushes, so there will be no beating around, nor behind, the bushes for me!

Thanks David! That kind of info at least lets us know things are continuing to press forward in a positive fashion. Hopefully with the continued testing efforts, your products will soon be ready for release, and we will all have another great tuning option before long.

Look forward to hearing more as we get closer!

you know what? squelch me... i'm not being helpful, nor am i being a good guy... i'm just doing this cause there are lots of people who aren't willing to stand up for much in life, and are too afraid to say anything to companies, knowing that the companies will get pissed off and be like, well, if they stated this and that, why don't you go spend your freakin' money there kinda ****!

I appreciate the update, it's not exactly what I wanted to hear, but like we stated earlier, something is better than nothing. I for one have been following your company's development and have been very impressed with the level of commitment Works has given to the EVO. So you will have to forgive my eagerness to see your stats as I am eager to start "modding" my EVO and Works is at the top of my lists.

That's definitely a first! Having a aftermarket product's warrenty longer than the Evo's bumper to bumper warrenty.... hope that will be the trend for the aftermarket industry

Looks like the dyno plots are up on the works.com website. Assuming they are honest, they look great!

So when folks start getting the reflash, please give us your first impressions!

Now THAT is what I am talking about........It looks great Works. Ok, now for the questions. Are the plots on the websight from a stock Evo fitted with your ECU, or did this particular car also have other modifications? If stock when will you be able to put up the numbers when combined with other pieces? Anyway it looks good and is a great improvement over stock. Damn, that back end just doesn't fall off!

Nevermind, just found the other thread.

The car was stock and the runs were done on 91 octane California pee water. The Dyno was an AWD Dynojet, the altitude was just above sea level, and the ambient temperature was in the mid 80s with low relative humidity.

Now how about answers to the other questions we all have. What is the boost at (19psi to redline)? What is the a/f ratio (12:1)? Can you do a reflash for people that already have some mods...such as exhaust and filter? Most people that want a chip will have other mods also..so it would seem VERY important to be able to do a reflash for cars that are modded and Evo's running 93 octane.

i know someone already asked about this

okay i know someone already asked about this...but does the works ecu flashing have capabilities to compensate for bov's? for instance i dont feel like pitching my hks bov just bc its not on the works list of upgrades...the upgrade path seems vary straight forward and promising...but i think there are a lot of evo owners that own a bov already and would be inquiring about the effects of the works brain on the vehicles idle quality and issues with stalling. if not is your company looking into developing your own bov's? also im not sure if your really allowed to say...but are there any products which we should look out for in the future? exhaust manifolds, cam gears, etc? thanx for your time ~angelo

Any chance of us getting a package deal if we order the ECU with the aperture and exhale products?

Wow...I must say I am impressed. To be able to increase the HP by nearly 30, by a re-flash is simply amazing.

I personally like my car stock...I like it quiet and handling is my #1 priority. I dont ever want to have to deal with LOUD grape fruit lauchers again. Plus...warranty coverage is very important to me.

I'm interested....although I'm also curious if there is a difference in flash programs for EVO's running 91 or 93 octane?
If not.....should there be?

I think there will be a few of us holding out for a 93 octane tune... I bet there is a good little bit of power/economy left in the tuning of the timing, with the added advance available with the higher octane.

So how soon now David?

DavidV confirmed that he can tune mine for 93 octane. From what he said, it is indeed available and he will have 93 octane maps up soon ... however, he also said that it is not a substantial difference from the 91 set-up. Then again, for those of us who have spoken to David, we know that he is very careful about what he says ... he doesn't like to convey too much info, and certainly doesn't want people thinking that a 93 octane tune could yield 15-20whp over the 91.
