David,

For the people living in the SF Bay Area; is it possible to stop by your shop and have the ECU re-flashed or is it strictly by mail order only?

Thanks

For our Bay Area customers, we can actually flash the ECU without even removing it from the car. The entire process can be done in under an hour.

Also, for local customers, we can provide service work on EVOs including everything from oil changes to brake jobs and tire rotations. Obviously, we also can install any of the tuning parts that we sell.

What about a boost control? are u in the process of creating one or does the works brain take care of that as well? i have heard rumors that mitsubishi turns up the boost on the evo for free and can get it over 300hp.. will the works brain need to be reflashed a different way if u have had that done?

and will the products available be able to get the evo's horspower around 350-400? thats my goal when i get it and i want as much gain while losing the least in terms of handling characteristics and such. im also interested in the ralliart exhaust system EVO but would u say your exhale system would work better with the works brain?

Boost is controlled through the WORKS ECU reflash. There is no need to get a separate boost controller. Also, there is no truth to the free Mitsubishi 300 hp upgrade rumor as far as I know.

350-400 hp will not be a problem with WORKS' upcoming line of mods for the EVO. The WORKS upgrade program is not going to leave you craving more power. Maintaining the precision balance and feel of the car is very much at the top of our priority list, and this is where WORKS expertise comes into play. A monkey could find a way to make a bunch of power out of a forced induction car like the EVO -- it's not exactly rocket science -- however, maintaining the stock feel and reliability of the EVO while providing the extra power is an art form, and one that WORKS has been working on for a long, long time.

As far as the WORKS Exhale exhaust goes, our ECU tune can be precision tuned for the exhale. If another exhaust is substantially similar, there shouldn't be any problems. However, we can only guarantee optimal results with our own product line, since it is designed from the ground up to be fully integrated.

You may not be able or willing to answer this question but here goes: Can you make it spoof the OBDII emissions testing so that it passes regardless of what mods or codes etc? I could not care less about emissions testing but I have to where I live....

Comparable to stock. Perhaps slightly worse. Combustion efficiency is improved, but additional boost is added throughout, so it is nearly a wash at the end. Expect to lose a few MPGs, but not a night and day difference. Driving habits, will of course, play a large factor. As the saying goes "your mileage may vary'

CARB compliance pending on some parts; others to be sold as "off road use only." If there are specific products you are concerned about, please contact us. All phase one products should pass tailpipe emissions testing.

No, that is not what I meant. We do not have tailpipe testing here, we have OBDII emissions testing. They plug some kind of scanner into the factory diagnostics port and you either pass or fail. I'm not sure what it is looking at though. I just want it to pass regardless of what mods or codes are there...

Yeah I would really like to know what the numbers are. I have a feeling that they are going to be about a 20HP gain....if you are lucky.
