Sorry for being such a newbie, but can someone explain to me the O2 housing? I just don't want to buy the wrong DP. I haven't look under my car yet, but from reading the O2 bung on a stock EVO IX is on the Cat. As oppose to the intermidate pipe on the 8. Is this correct?
I was looking at Group Buy list and eling99 wanted an O2 bung on his downpipe. Can someone explain why he wants this? Is this something I would need?
Again I will probably run the Works 76mm DP with HFC and the RMR catback. The catback is for the EVO 8 but it comes with a plug to cover up the O2 bung.
Thanks!

o2 bung on the downpipe I would assume would be for a wideband o2 sensor for datalogging/tuning. The intermediate pipe has a bung on it ala the evo8. The WORKS high flow cat does not. I have an IX as well, and I plugged my o2 into the intermediate pipe since I am running their HFC as well. No CEL at all. The o2 wire is plenty long enough to reach, and nobody is sure why they changed it on the IX as its pretty much the same.

As far as recomendations for 76 or 70mm, I went with the 76 personally. If your ONLY going to be doing very light modding to the car, WORKS recomends the 70mm. If you plan on doing cams, alky, or upgrading the turbo, buy the 76. Its worth it to get more flow when you dive into more modding.

Either downpipe works with the stock o2 housing on the turbo, and either also works with the works o2 housing or any other aftermarket housing. So its just personal preference.

The O2 housing has the first O2 sensor for the factory ECU air/fuel monitoring.
That's different from the 2nd O2 sensor underneath your Evo IX.

You wont need that unless you plan on doing your own tuning.

The RMR is fine as far as the Catback is concerned. In terms of the HFC, WORKS is the only company ( that I know of ) that offers a HFC solution for the Evo IX.

So put your name on the 76mm d/p group buy list.
Edit: Oops , Your name is already on the list.

I have the WORKS 76mm Ceramic coated d/p ... I love it.

The last d/p you will ever need to buy.

Interesting that the EvoIX O2 sensor wire reaches far enough for the I/P bung.

for someone with a WORKS TBE and P2 flash+cams as their only mods, WHICH down pipe would be recommended? 70 or 76mm?
If one goes 70mm at the DP, should one go 70mm with the IP as well?
As mentioned, the 76mm will ultimately allow for more airflow. The WORKS 269 cams help with low-end grunt as well as increased top-end and can offset the low end you may give up by using the larger 76mm DP.

For the IP I would recommend going with the 70mm version if using a stock or StealthWORKS muffler. If using the AB or ABM, then the 76mm would be better suited. (The 70mm IP will work with the AB/ABM, but my personal opinion is to go for the 76mm.) Also keep in mind the 70mm IP is non-resonated and has a tendency to increase volume a decibel or two

We could go with as little as the five already listed. The more involved, the greater the chance of savings for everyone involved. As of right now, this is still "unofficial." You guys pick a "leader" and have that person contact us to discuss specifics

I'll be in the shop tomorrow or you can e-mail me your phone number and I can contact you directly. Are you taking charge of this group buy?

So for better low end power and acceleration in 1st or 2nd gear, you recommend the 70mm dp?
Guys what would be better for me? and am I missing any components?
I will be doing light modding exhaust and flash.

1) Works 70mm dp -> Works HFC -> RMR exhaust
2) Works 76mm dp -> Works HFC -> RMR exhaust

All parts should swap out with stock parts?
