Question Works 76mm Downpipe, and Cat for IX

The site says this downpipe will fit IX, but they recommend the ceramic coating. Anyone one here have the ceramic coated DP and is it really worth the extra $100?
The works HFC should bolt up to any catback exhaust that connects to the stock cat right?
Maybe Works can answer this, I am planning to get the Works 76mm DP, Works HFC, and RMR exhaust. Will all these components fit okay?
Thanks

I have the Works 76mm ceramic coated d/p. IMO the coating is worth it.
The combination you're considering should be fine. You'll be ok with
any catback for that matter.

WORKS does recommend the thermal coating for all '05+ models. Not only does it help keep heat from radiating to the oil pan and other nearby components, it also helps prevent it from getting to the ACD. The stock DP has a heatshield around it for a reason and the thermal coating is there to mimic this.

Because all of our Exhale components are modular, you can replace them one piece at a time. This allows them to mate to the stock pieces as well as those that mount using OEM-style locations, flanges, etc...

remember, the 70mm downpipe has been tested to show greater gains than the 76mm one, according to the WORKS website. . .

So what is the deal? I hear from everyone else that the larger the downpipe the better, then works says their 70mm downpipe is a little better than the 76mm.
I'm not sure which one would be better now.

If you plan to keep the stock o2 housing then get the 70mm DP. But if you plan to get a bigger o2 housing like the Works o2 or what not, get the 76mm DP.

Many haven't gotten the CEL but it seems that they only have very limited miles on it. However, unfortunately some of us are not as lucky. Then you will need an anti fouler.

The 70mm is for light/moderate modified. Basically intake exhaust flash and thats it. However, if you plan on modding your evo quite a bit, you need the extra flow for the 3 inch. Like they said, if you plan on doing o2, or ever upgrading your turbo, get the 76. Thats the one I got, put it on last week. Fit like a champ, very easy install.

Extensive testing has shown that a moderately modified Evo with this setup produces more power with a 70mm downpipe than a 76mm downpipe. This is due to minimizing abrupt gas expansion which cools the exhaust gases rapidly and creates undesirable turbulence.

I'll probably fall into the light to moderate modding category. So if I go with the 70mm DP do you think I really need to upgrade the HFC or do you think the stock cat should be fine?

^^I have the 70mm downpipe and intermediate pipe and I wish I would've purchased the 76mm intermediate pipe as then I could swap easily to an HFC. The stock cat is a restriction as well as a bit of a bottle neck from the 70mm DP. I did feel a mild gain and a quicker feeling spool up with my current set-up, but I'm really wanting an HFC.
