Water Injection ?s

Dave or anyone,
I don't see any pics of the water tank for the water injection system. Where will the tank be located what is it made of and what is its capacity? What type of safety precautions are built into the system if one were to run the water tank dry?

What would be the equivelant octane rating of running water injection and 91 octane fuel? In other words would 91+water injection= running 93/95/100 etc. octane fuel?

How many hours approx to install water injection kit with good mechanical skills?

Thanks
mojo

The WORKS Water Injection uses the factory reservoir for the windshield washer / IC core sprayer. Safety features are in place for blocked jet and low water level. Install time is approx. 2 hours with basic hand tools. Water injection does in fact slow down the burn rate of fuel, thereby increasing the effective octane, but I'm not sure how one would go about assigning a number to it.

David,

Is there some type of dash display system that will interface with it providing info such as water level, blocked jet, etc?

If this system is working the way as Works describes it, then it show be a no brainer must have for the force induction users like us.
What is the warranty on the system?

David,

Can you elaborate on that, such as cost, size of display unit, features, availability, etc.

The stock display that comes with the WORKS system (included in the price) will show a green LED indicating successful detection of fuel injection pulses and a red LED that lights up when water in being injected. It will also detect a blocked jet and reduce boost accordingly.

The optional display looks like a "Hi-Fi" stereo readout with jumping red LEDs that display the total volume of water being injected.

David,

Do you have a pic of the optional display?
What is the additional cost for it?

Thanks,

Wilson

Yes water injection is very cool and very effective. I would definately go this route over spending similiar $ on an aftermarket intercooler.

Does anyone know if water injection help gain power or just prevent loss of power on the Evo. I like to know what kind of HP it might gain if any. It also looks like it might even save gas since it helps reduce fuel dump.

Re: Re: Water Injection ?s

Arent we supposed to put coolant/antifreeze for the IC sprayer? Isnt that going to mess up the AF in the combustion chamber?

You should NEVER put coolant/antifreeze for the IC sprayer, the IC sprayer uses the factory reservoir for the windshield washer / IC core sprayer. Coolant/Antifreeze isn't something you want outside in the environment, bad for animals and such.

Use windshield washer fluid or water only. Washer fluild usually contain some alcohol so that's a plus.

Hope that helps.

The water injection itself doesn't give you more power but it lets you tune for more power! It reduces detonation similar to higher octane gas so you can run more timing advance and more boost.
The Works reflash with the H20 injection will take care of the tuning part for you.
