Mitsu reflash

As seen here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...7&page=1&pp=15

Works, can you give us some details? Would this overwrite our P* flash? What are you thoughts on this concerning Works customers with P flashes?

Yes, this will overwrite the P* flashes. WORKS is in the process of issuing our own TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for P* flashed customers. If you are a current P* customer, please refrain from getting the dealer flash.

By the way, this only applies to customers who are experiencing the P0300 code. If you aren't getting the code then the updated flash from the dealer or WORKS is not necessary.

I'm getting the P0300 code on a semi-regular basis now. Seems to be growing more frequent for whatever reason. Is there an estimated date that a reflash will be available from WORKS? I have the P-2 currently.

Thanks!

We are in the process of disassmbling and merging the code right now. Only after complete and thorough testing will we release this update.

The '04 Brain Flash P* took about 8 weeks but we expect this to take about half the time. Since we started this a week ago we should see this update in less than a month. Stay tuned.

Just looking for an update from anyone at Works. This misfire is really pissing me off and I'm half tempted to take it to the dealership and get the re-flash just to rid myself of the constant problem I'm having and have had for a few months now. Would it make a difference if I got the dealer re-flash then got yours when it is released? Besides, my dealership is well aware of my problem so they'd be suspicious if I didn't need it all of a sudden, not that it's any of their business. Please let me know soon as I'm planning a road trip and would like to get this taken care of ASAP, one way or another.

Thanks in advance,
D

If you have the P2 boost hose installed, DO NOT get the dealer reflash. Unless you swap a stock boost hose back in, you will be boosting to high. The P2 controls boost using the software and with out it there is no control.

Thanks for the heads up Tyler and yes I do have the hose installed so I'll just be patient and wait for Works to come out with a fix. Any update on your progress?

I think the best question is whether Works thinks the Mitsu/Works reflash ELIMINATES the P0300... ???

if they integrate mitsu's changes with their own tuning changes, why wouldn't it?

So far, the Mitsu flash for the P0300 has not been a true fix for some people - even after getting the new P0300 flash from Mitsu, the P0300 comes right back after a short while. Therefore, the fear is that even with the update from Mitsu combined with the P2, it won't be a permanent fix for the P0300.

You are quite welcome.

If you have any mods on your car, remove them before going to Mitsu for to report that the P0300 reflash did not work. Mitsubishi techs have blamed a recirc diverter valve for the P0300 recurrence, for example. And we all know that Mitsubishi is actively looking to deny warranty claims.
