Question DOHC for 4g94 engine

Something I would like to do to my car before I install a turbo is replace the SOHC head with a DOHC head. Anyone done this or know of a way to do this?

Anything is Possible

Hey monkiboy, i already asked if i could use the Dohc head off of the 2.0 Evo and everybody told me it couldnt be done. I have this friend that blew his Sohc head on his neon and nobody said the Dohc on the other neon, probably rt, would fit and he said it went right on with ease. I think nobody would know unless they actually try it. First thing i would do is look at the dimensions of the block and head and do some comparing. I think those japanese guys are always two steps ahead of everybody else. Theres bound to be a head out there for a substitute. If you do find one though let me know, or im just going to port mine out secretly. Thanks, Dusty.

The work and cost involved in this conversion out weigh the benifits. You could use a 4G93 DOHC head off a 97+ engine and then start playing around. The 4G63 DOHC head will not fit onto the 4G94 SOHC block. If you have a closer look the 4G94 SOHC uses the almost the same head as the 4G93 SOHC. I hope that has helped

as well as making sure that all of the water cooling holes ect on the inside of the motor match up as well other wise you could be in for some very expensive repairing
