Turbo timer HKS type 1???

Ok...I installed the hks turbo timer and everything is working properly except for the main function..THE IDLE TIME FOR THE CAR TO SHUT DOWN....I pull the hand brakes up and turn the ignition off. But the Turbo Timer just shuts down with the car...I thought its suppose to count down and shut down according to the setting (30 secs). But when i turn the ignition just 1 click back with the keys still ATTACH to the ignition its counts down and shuts the car off. I want to just turn the ignition off with the keys out of the ignition and walk away while the car idles to a shut down. How do i do that??????

Plz help Im confuse...i hope thats now how turbo timer's work.

if you used a harness i dont know what is wrong

but if you didnt

it could be that your power source is connected to an accessory

so when you turn the key to the off position you cut the power

Does it matter where i ground the wire too??
E-brake is tapped right... becuz i push the e-brake down and
the car shut's off right away.
And where is the power source located at?? what wire is it?
Yes i have a harness and it fits pretty good.

Make sure you have the parking brake set before you turn it off. That might be the problem.

Same thing - technically it's a parking brake... That has to be up before you turn the car off or else the sensor will reset when you pull it up and turn the turbo timer (and the motor) off.

yea i did that already and same thing happens. Parking brake was up....i turn the key to the point where i can take the key out and poofff the cars turns off....this sux....

i already tried to turn the key back 1 click with the parking up.....and while the timer was counting down...i pulled the handbrake down and poof the car shut down...so that should show me that the e-brake is correctly wired up....

i need more suggestions

Also you will want to check your count down settings. If you are in the automode, and the counter is at 0, the car will just shut off. Automode calculates the estimated idle time needed. If you run the car hard, the auto mode will show a value. If you run under boost, the timer will be at 0. Choose either manual mode, mode 1 or 2. I believe mode 1 is 1 min and mode 2 is 3 mins.

What harness are you using? it should be the HKS MT-6 or the Greddy one. They both work with the Type 1/0 and the evo. If you are 100% sure you have everything wired right, you need to call the place you bought it from to get a replacement.

Post the colors of the wires you tapped for us. I've installed several TTs already so I can tell you what you need to do. There's also a tutorial by one of my customers .
