Is popping exhaust flames bad 4 turbo?

Hey dudes and dudettes!
I was reaal excited 3 days ago to learn that it was possible to pop a flame after my testpipe installation.
Went and tried it out along with my dad with success.
But i dont want to hurt the car either.
I heard that it is bad for the turbo but there was no clear explanation as to why.
Is it true? and if so, why?

RICER!

kiddin. no harm no foul.. someone will chime in with a highly scientific explination of the flame being caused. Just do the world a favour and don't be a civic owner with an ego showing it off to every possible person..

It is bad for the car when cops see the flames and fine you for no cat. Then your car misses out on that money that could have been used to mod it even more.

LOL turn off that lawnmower engine already.

I'm surprised it could even power all those lights...

I get popping noises whenever I get off the throttle from cruise and downshift so that the RPM's rev to 5-6k. Happens at the track as well so if I need to be quieter with the police in view I make sure not to rev match downshift or there is a good chance they'll notice flames and a pop from my exhaust.

That sure is true. Thanks.
But where i'm from there is no enforcement against cars with no cat..........yet.
So i can save on that money.
