Newbie: Front Strut Won't Line Up
I have a 2001 Mitsubishi Mirage 1.8 and I am replacing the front-struts. Taking the front right strut off took no more than 30 minutes.
*Tools: Socket wrench with a 17mm for the lower bolts and a 15mm for the top bolts under the hood.
*Spring Compressor Tool used to remove the old strut and add the new one.
*Jack Stands - Lifted both sides up for removal
Once everything was put together I attached the strut back in the correct position and I noticed that the strut holes did not match up where they should be.
My question too you great mechanics, as a newbie what should I do to get the strut to match up so I can add the bolt and screws back?
Checking other responses stated that I should put a screwdriver in the hole to match it up. The problem there is that the way it is angled, I can't put a screwdriver in the hole. Any thoughts on the issue?
