So i got a 2003 Lancer es about a three or four weeks ago, havent done much b/c of soccer and school but still doing some research. I wanna make an evo 9 out of it but i really dont have the cash, and i dont even have a job (working on it). Also im a complete noob, only know some numbers and letters here and there. I should be doing a build thread for it sometime in the future. Anyway..

My question is about a set of front/back evo bumpers i found on ebay. Its really weird because its actually a mix of an evo 8 and evo 9 bumper but i believe the back bumper is just evo 9. My stock front bumper is cracked and has giant hole in it anyway so thats why im looking into kits. Im wondering if this is worth the investment, if anyone has gotten it before, and how much a hassle it would be to make it fit. I never definitely figured out if they SAID it would fit an 03 lancer es but i emailed them and im waiting.

It would cost me $100 flat for a stock bumper on ebay, and $190 for the evo 8/9 front and back. You're thinking get the evo bumpers right?!? but... $260 for shipping.. like really So i cant decide to spend the $450 for front and back hoping they would fit or $100 for stock..

1) shipping charges are high to cover cost of the bumper but to avoid ebay fees. It's not a $100 bumper. Plus, that particular kit is for an evo, not a lancer

2) you're not gonna be able to turn your lancer into an evo. If you have the funds to do so (and with no job, you don't), you should buy an evo

3)if you want your lancer to perform like an evo, don't waste money on a body kit, go straight for a turbo or suspension mods

1) yeah i guess that makes sense and just from looking at a pic of a lancer front bumper u can tell the area where it meets the fender its goes up a little to meet the fender but it doesnt at all on the kit.

2) I completely understand it will never be close to an evo, and many people may call me a ricer, or say im an evo wanna be.. but i am.. and evo is my dream car but im in highschool so theres no way.. i figured i would atleast try to improve my lancer and attempt at an evo look, hence my front bumper is already broken and im replacing it. But i appreciate where youre coming from

3) I have no money (again ) for coilovers, real strut bars, anti sway, etc and i understand that it may be worth it to get the expensive things from the get-go but i really cannot pay for that so i have to do with what i can and get her working first.

I never saw an evo 9 front bumper there other than for the ralliart, and i hate not being able to see the prices. Also Ive heard a million different things about body-kit.com.

The links you posted are bumpers that are made to go on an Evo. They do make Evo look alike bumpers that are made especially for your car. Many guys do this. For one, the headlights and taillights are different, so these bumpers will not fit your car. The only thing I know will fit your car is an actual evo wing, and I do believe the side skirts. As far as performing like an Evo, that will not be possible without a wallet full of cash. Even turbo'ing the car isnt going to get you close to the power an evo will give you.
