k i tried to take the needles off my guages but cant get them off , read all posts and tried what everyone else did. used flat screwdriver to try prying under the black piece and pulling up on it but cant get them off and dont want to break them. what am i doing wrong??? anybody help me????

 

Not pulling hard enough? I just take my thumb and index finger and made sure I had a really nice grip. Pull like hell, but please don't be careless doing so.

 

but i thought u dont want to pull it all the way off? just to the top and let it go past the black stopper and mark where it is so u remember where to put it back on.? and i was prying up with srewdriver and the damn thing wouldnt pop off. u would think it would but it wouldnt

 

Well if you pull the little stopper pin out, it falls back enough.
