Thanks Lanzer! Do you have any idea what is best to put eyelids on with? Ive got 3m double sided tape that you use with the vortex generators but Ive also heard of using caulk or epoxy of some kind. I didnt know which would last better...

LOL Nekkidlad its probably photobucket thats blocked by your work's systems. I cant get on certain things here like club4g and certain image hosting sites.

Thanks spookiie. I love the specs on the new ralliarts! But something about the body throws me off. I think I like the smaller body of the older lancers better. My all time favorite lancer would have to be the Evo V or VI they (in my mind) are the most gorgeous stock.

Anywho. After the eyelids get put on Im going to start getting ready to paint my valve cover, replace spark plugs, do a thorough oil change, and look into changing my ATF. I was thinking about painting my cover like Kawasaki green lol. I was going to do red and black but red seems a bit over done in my opinion. I wanted something kinda different when you pop the hood. lol

And has anyone seen a decent how-to on changing the ATF for our tranny? Ive never had to do it before so I wanted a good guide but Ive not seen any... Or just notes would be helpful lol Im all about doing it myself if I can, I really REALLY hate taking my car to any shop.

refer to the service manual for ATF drain and flush, the procedure is pretty specific...

LMAO idk why i didnt think of that... I guess i was just writing and not really thinking. lol thanks.

Ive seen a lot of places say to use only mitsubishi ATF but would the ATF from Royal Purple hurt? I was thinking about maybe switching all my fluids over to Royal Purple...

For the eye lids I used GOOD 3M double sided tap around the edges of the lid, and then put a nice line of clear silicon in the center of the lid. They dont budge at all and have had them on for awhile now.

I used 3M tape with mine but one came loose and flew off on the highway a few years after i installed them. I still have the other cf eyelid just sitting around. Eventually the tape will dry out and it will need to redone regardless ,but I guess it just happened faster here in the Florida sun Try out the 3M and silicone route that mikemike suggested maybe it will hold up better.

As for the green, go for it , I've thought about doing a candy purple with mine

yea...im pretty sure image shack is almost the only host site work allows...

as for the valve cover..i say absolutely go for it...
anywhere u look EVERYBODY has red this or red that...hell, our cars come with red strut bars right...?
everytime i pop my hood everyone around is like "cool...where'd u buy that?...i like the red"
i can't take it anymore...kinda like blacked out cars, don't get me wrong, it looks good sometimes...but EVERYBODY has one so it's not being different like it was when it first started out

whatever u do, just make sure u like it and it looks good...
unlike the guy at my work who drives a firebird...he plasti-dipped the whole thing flat black, but the convertible top is tan(car used to be a kind of teal green)....also he decided to paint the calipers and valve covers yellow(like safety yellow on curbs and stuff)...
and then the wheels neon green(also plasti-dip)
and now the car looks like butt....

Thanks guys!

I guess my plans from here on out are to:

First take care of maintenance things. I need a new valve cover gasket bad and its about time for an oil change, and ATF change.

Then I want to switch up my tail lights the totally blacked out ones are kinda getting old. And I think Im going to switch to evo amber side markers while Im at it.

And once Ive done all that Im going to gut my garage probably sell a few things in the market place, then start tearing down my spare motor and building it back up for turbo. Ive been inspired by Crans, Truth, and Mitsuorder. So I'll be aiming for a 300hp setup. I'll probably start another thread just on tearing down and rebuilding that motor.

After that Im not sure If I'll stick to the auto tranny or go manual. My brother is trying to sell his 3g Eclipse for $750 with a blown head gasket. Ive been REALLY tempted to attempt to make the manual tranny work in my car, and maybe someday way down the line build an evo VIII DOHC 2.4l turbo for the eclipse... But either way before I drop in the built motor I want to rebuild the transmission (whichever I go with) with an LSD and stuff.

Those are sorta my goals for now. Things may change though. Everyone knows how stuff likes to pop up. LOL

LOL Thanks guys! I really appreciate it. Im still wanting to get the 15mm spacers back on there and really set the wheels out there a bit more but that'll be a project for down the road I guess.

And Kap if you want the tails as soon as I get another set on I'll let you know. I'll go ahead and tell you though with the entire tail tinted out like it is the reverse lights are nearly non-existent when looking from the driver seat out the back at night. From the outside you can see them. But you may want to invest in some of those super bright tail lights. Lanzer showed me THESE a long time ago. They'd probably do the trick.

So Ive been putting some serious thought into the forced induction thing. And the supercharger idea has come up again... lol I cant seem to make my mind up...

Are they VHT or vinyl? I can't remember and too lazy to search. Maybe I could find a way to just remove some of the tint from that reverse light area.

Its VHT. I wish I would have used vinyl I think that would have looked better. But Some paint thinner should get it to come off Ive read guides on how to do it.

or theoretically u can get some mild sandpaper and sand the paint off and then hit it with some clear and bring it back to clear....
but likely it's much more trouble than it's worth...haha

Sandpaper and gasoline works good, takes a bit of work but it gets the VHT off. I've also heard acetone or paint thinner work well, as well as Goof Off.
