Squirting A Sds?

I have the first 5 speed RA SDS and wan't to apply nitrous and have a few Questions! I would go to ripp but they are 4 hours away! If I wan't to spray a 75 shot should I go wet? And will there be any tuning involved with my ripp black box? I don't plan on using this all the time but would like it on track days and dyno days! And if any one could give me any suggestions I would really appretciate them.

Well, first off, this is the problem with being the first anything. You have to figure some stuff out on your own.

Second, it's "want" aka desire, or "wa'n't" if you're from the northeast and trying to say "wasn't". There is no such word as "wan't".

Okay, okay. If you're bent on spraying your FI car, you'd want wet. You're already going to be pushing the limits of your fuel delivery with the boosting, spraying dry on top of that would make the RA go boom.

If anything, go wet for sure. Since the black box is self-learning/self-adjusting, I don't believe that would be the problem. Solve the problem with a couple calls to the company; see what they think...

if you dont have forged internals DO NOT SPRAY 75 as you will blow up the engine...
a 30 or a 45 is in order wo forged internals in your case....

I love the NOS but.... If you're putting down 248whp allready. I have to aggree with PR here. You are allready pushing the limits of the factory internals. Either go with forged lower compression pistons and a higher psi pully set instead of pulling the pin and counting to 5. It's a trick you can only do once. Even with the boost cooler and an intercooler I don't think the motor could keep from detonating and that's if the black box doesn't advance the timing at all. Congrats on the immpressive numbers though!!! Combine some custom forged pistons and some forged connecting rods (soon to be available through Accolade via a certain australian source) you should be ready to push those #'s up even higher! I would say a limited slip diff would be a better investment in the short term though! Let us all know how it turns out. I for one am interested in the results!

when i was surfing on ripps site a few months back, i saw this thread:

http://rippmods.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=364

seems like if you want, ripp can integrate it in with the blackbox, which is well, cool. but i agree, stay away from the happy juice for now, focus on suspension, lsd, clutch, light flywheel, etc for now

Hey correct me if I am wrong but aren't there ra's on this board with dyno #'s between 320-350 whp on stock internals and they are holding fine? The only problem is the clutch wich I am getting ready to replace in less than 2 weeks! Just wondering if me or my budy wen't with a 50-75 shot then wouldn't that still be over 300 whp but stll under 350? But please correct me if I am wrong!

50 and 75 IS NOT SAFE with your mods if you dont have forged internals...
and even IF you make them forged you will still need to know on to what compresion you will be heading it ( i dont know if you understand me im translating directly form my mind) since being blown and spraying multiplies your chance of detonation... my best guess is that if you lower the compresion lets say 8.5:1, get a high boost pulley, manage to retard the timing 2 or 3deg then you might spray the engine all you want but if you do that on the blunt you might destroy all that hard work...

and the 320 and 350 on stock internals....? i dont remember reading that here...

I say spray it and see what happens! Whats the worst that can happen, Boom? Thats ok, you just go out and buy new rods and pistons.

Get er Done!!

I thought thunder rush hit around 320 whp before his clutch wen't on stock internals! But you can't really see the sheets really well. But hey thanks for the advice and any others to gain hp's would be great!
