Yes, you can buy one for sure. I rent them to keep the cost down. Eventually ecuflash will fix the write issue. It would be a sore point if you buy mmcflash and then ecuflash fixes the issues, you spent that cash for nothing, that is one of the reasons i rent them. MMCFLASH is a great program I have been using for some time with no issues.

You will still need a XML definition both mmcflash and ecuflash will only read and write to the ecu. ECUFLASH is the editor but without a XML definition you have data and thats about it. I can provide a XML definition thats the easy part.
