on my best run, i shifted a bit into the red. i also had a good power-shift into 2nd, but let off a bit going into 3rd in fear of it locking me out. I shifted to 4th just before the finish. i prob shoulda just burried it or shifted a bit earlier to try to climb. I had about 1/2tank of gas (i know....) and the trunk was empty (no tire/jack). the track is NOTORIOUS for being bad for FWD car and for street tires. Its a real serious NHRA track and the big boys run on the same strip that Im running out....doing crazy burnouts and having wet tires from the box. kinda sux for me, but my 60's are still ok....hmm

what are u guys doing between gears? My launch is fine, but everything else sucks =) I tried totally letting off and quickly shifting and punching it again....that sucks. I also tried keeping the gas floored while I shift and unless I get a REALLY fast 2nd-to-3rd i lock out of 3rd and really hurt the time. yea, im a newb to the track, so what u may consider common sense is all new to me =)

If you do either, prepare for some noise.

You guys I am sure can run through the 1/4 in 3rd. I've tried shifting to 4th at the end but I think it's a waste of time when the engine can run through in 3rd.

Also try try try to not run through any water getting to the staging line. Drive around and do a nice dry burn. The track I run at has little stones (gravel) that prevent good traction if you don't burn them off.

With that good hard dry burn I manage 2.3 60's regularly.

We run out of torque quickly after 6000 rpms. 6K in third is like 80 mph. Shifting to forth is a must with a few bolt-ons.

i went out again and HAD to shift to 4th. I hit the damn rev limiter with several feet to go! Anyway, numbers time:

First race against a WRX. I overstaged, but it didnt make re stage, although I tried to. not good for a launch! the result? my worst run ever. 16.788@85.82mph. YUK!!! I didnt hit 60' until I was already in 2ng gear. I started to back up after over-staging, and saw the tree lights going. Launched WAY to high in the RPMs WHILE STILL ROLLING BACKWARDS! 2.831 60' =) the WRX had a 1.950 60' and finished 14.389@95.33. lets forget about that run

Second race: Against an integra. My best run to date. I killed the teg and ran a 15.544@88.62. 60' was 2.321, not my best. 330 was 6.519. 1/8 was 9.998@70.90 (UNDER 10!). 1000' was 12.990. 1/4 was 15.544@88.62.

here is the stats:
https://www.evolutionm.net/registry/viewtime.php?tid=86

I ran the tires at 25psi, much higher than my last day out but it worked better for me today. Had a bit less gas this week, which cant hurt.

I also saw a yellow auto ralliart wagon run a 16 flat stock.

25 psi is good for me too...well on the current tires anyway. Any softer and the car bounces too much off the line. Sorry about the 3rd gear not working, you guys are reaching higher speeds.

Nice 60' foot time this time.
