Yes, I'd be willing to pay up to 100 bucks for a quick connect piggy ECU harness.

If he needs a specific number of people for an initial group buy or something. You can put my name at the top of the list. Maybe that would put us over. Just a thought.

Well, considering the piggyback is already way overpriced, especially since you only gain about 10HP, there is no way I would pay $600 bucks for it.

That's what I've mentioned to him, along with price of course - just waiting to see how many people he needs to make this work .

I'm really interested in the harness. I allready have a Greddy Emanage, the piggyback won't work for what I'm planning (allready asked him about a N2O reflash and they said no). It doesn't mean that I wouldn't spend a c-note to not have to cut into my harness for anything including an AFC, alarm system, turbo kit... A lot of people would like to have this harness even if they don't buy the piggyback, and anyone that does might like the aforementioned ability to remove it for dealer inspection, emissions, trade-in, or (hate to say it) totaled car. The harness has a large target audience asside from the piggyback computer. Just didn't want anyone to think they might only offer it with the piggyback. I hope that's not what they're banking on is it?

What they should do is have both the piggyback alone or the piggyback with the harness at different prices. Plug and play

If they to wanted get more money they could just sell the harness for people like AMG, I think there is money in it. Then again I don't run a shop

100 is minimum and they have a declining scale on price.. they usually come 500 connectors in a box.. i think that you would have a hard time getting enough guys together for any groupbuy on these connectors

Just trying to get enough guys together to make it RRM's worthwhile - both as an initial offering, and as an ongoing option for all piggies. With this kinda response in just a couple days, I'm SURE it will also help future buyers decide on the piggy if such a harness is available - owners who would otherwise NOT consider buying one at all, like myself. A 10 year warranty is a good thing to hang on to!

Well I'm seriously considering the Piggy. If I could get a quick connect harness it would seriously sway my decision

Not to be nosey.... well okay TO be nosey, how much would the 500 connectors cost? Is that for both ends(a set) or just 1 side? I'm not sure if I can swing it right this minute but I know that the potential for the RA harness is there. With the 3.8 MIVEC going into the 06 Eclipse and the likelyhood of a similar if not same harness connectors (does anyone know it is the same?), the Ralliart edition is Mitsu's best shot right now. Anyway, what was the rough estimate on price per connector?

500 connectors are for ONE plug.. so for a typical harness that has 3 plugs on each side.. plus you need a "hood" on one end (hood holds the plugs together, you only need one of these)

for example, a obd2 hood for a 99 prelude would be $12.26 USD each if you buy less than 500.. $9.50 each in a box of 500.. $6.02 each for anything over 9000 (doubt you will get 9000 hoods)

a typical connector (you need 6 of these remember) is $3.15 USD each in a box of 500

and that's not including the cost of pins and tools

Okay i think I have it... No, wait you lost me.... No, there it is again...
Okay, I understand the need for a hood, that's the main problem (no pun intended) we have is that ours is different than the EVO's. What I'm not getting is the 500. We have roughly 150 pins on our ecu. Maybe it's just the way you phrased it but you're saying we need 500 per plug and 3 plugs on each side?!? I'm not trying to be argumentative, I'm just not sure where you're coming from with this. No matter though, have you found someone who will make a hood for our car? If so how much would it be per "set". By set I mean: 1 hood that matches our ecu side, and 5 plugs (sorry automatic guys for now) to patch into the car's wiring harness. Actually strike that and reverse it. 1 for car's harness would be more likely and 5 "plugs" to the ecu would be a better match.
