Aem Cai

Wow, no reviews for the AEM CAI yet. I just installed it this morning and everything was straight forward with no problems at all. The bracket that mounts next to the slave cylinder makes the intake feel very snug and secure. Also the Synthetic dry flow filter is a plus. 10/10 for this product.

Everyone seems to be recommending the UD pulleys.
I'm thinking about getting one of these. What type of gains and driving changes do you generally see from these?

Well its about time I did a review...

AEM SRI - $70 used - on car for about $20K: Looks good (chrome), easy to install and I had no instructions, pretty straight forward. I like how you can still use the ram air from the stock intake, though Im not sure its beneficial but I assume it is. Sound is fantastic! Noticeable performance seemed to be quicker throttle response and a bit more low end. Negligable at best though. Good deal for $70 but I wouldnt have paid more if it was my only mod. 7/10

OBX header/downpipe combo - $265 shipped new - on car for 10K: Looks great new, welds looked fine, granted not the most beautiful but looked solid. Not ceramic coated, turned black fast. Install was easy. Took about 4 hours to remove stock unit due to rusted bolts that I had to cut with a dremel!! Took about 15 minutes to install new unit all by my self. Fitment was perfect. Only issue was there was an extra o2 bung on the header it self that needed to be plugged. I used an old o2 sensor. Sound is ok if Im easy on it, great and mean when Im on it hard. In between...well not so much. Performance...WOW, for $265 I am very happy! I didnt notice any loss at low end but I think that is because I already had the SRI, but my butt dyno tells me there is a good increase in top end. The first time I got on it, it actually took me offguard!. For the first week or so I was constantly looking down to make sure I was in the right gear because it pulled so great I thought I was in a gear lower then I was. Great mod for the money, we will see how it holds up this winter on salty roads though. I give it it an 8/10 with the only negatives being that its not ceramic coated and the extra o2 bung.

RRM UDP - 190 shipped part of a package with an authority ss, console and underhood shifter bushings (reviewed together below) - on car about 2K mi. Install was a *****, but only because I was looking at the wrong thing so it was my fault. If I did it again and not counting the removal and replacement of the splash guards, I could probably do it in 20 min or less. The usual here faster revs, no noticable loss in power to headlights/stereo/ect. Gains were good. Not nearly as much as the header/dp but still there. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I had done it before the header/dp as they had me spoiled. 8/10

Authority ss and bushings - Easy install, I'm pretty stupid when it comes to cars (never done anything with a car before I did the mods Ive mentioned) and I installed it all with no instructions. The only tough part was the underhood bushings. I managed to drop and lose both of the clips so I had to make my own out of wire I use to make fishing lures! The ss isnt that much shorter then stock, but I do notice a little shorter throws and the bushings really made the difference. The shifter isnt squishy any more, rather nice and tight and sure. As a whole 8/10

does is sounds like a honda fart can exhaust?

I purchased my car with a Magnaflow exhaust and a short shifter. As far as i know, i believe both of them are from Road Race Motorsport, and i'll give them 9/10, only because i wish the exhaust pipe was a 4" instead of 3".

I'm looking to get a CAI and UDP in the future too.

RRM axel back - $120 shipped used.

No gains obviously. For a used one, finish was still really nice. Fitment was good but the bolts were too big to bolt on to my stock exhaust. Kind of odd. I had to cut the factory bolts off too. A PITA for sure.

I have a SRI, OBX headers/DP and before it sounded kinda tingy and bad during normal driving. With this exhaust it sounds straight up MEAN! Its pretty loud but not like a fart can. It has a very throaty deep tone to it.

9/10 but only because I dont like mods that dont make power.
