nitrous
nitrous
i've been thinkin of hitting the bottle for a lil bit, but i don't know anything really about it. do i use wet, dry, direct port injection. do i need to do anything to timing for it. and how do i make sure i don't run to lean. i don't really wanna blow up my daily driver. i just wanted like a 50 shot or something for when i take it to the track. thanx for the help.

There's a couple other people here who have been successful with nitrous on our cars. Search around and PM them.

were i cordially differ from you is that probably you havent had a chance to work a nitrous sistem or know how to combine it... before you weight in the factors that made the engine blow up for instance fuel delivery/pressure were was the nozzle at ect.. you need to evaluate all of this before saying nitrous is bad..
for instance ricky mivec's car held a 100 wet shot for al least 3 weeks with no issues whatsoever, the car raced 3 timesweekly his car is dead not because the engine blew up but because he crashed it... still i looked at the car at the street and at the strip and it worked flawlessly...
just this week i finished working on a 2004 ra that we are putting 90 shot and it has no issues... so you see as i always say, IF you know the proper "how to" you wont blow up..
besides, as someone already stated, do you think rrm made a turbo kit in wich it blows in aprox 80hp and can be tunned for so much more if the engine cant take it..?

Another factor is that a 100hp nitrous shot is almost doubling the base lancer 2.0l SOHC engines output. It's like putting a 150hp shot on our cars. You only do that after major upgrades. You can't double your horsepower and keep everything else stock... Mitsu builds a little slack in the fuel system to overcome a dirty fuel filter but not enough to provide the required gasoline to balance the amount of N2O that's being applied. Most (not all) people that have had major breakage with nitrous lost fuel one way or another and didn't have the proper safe guards in place. You don't have the same problems w/ turbo's since turbo's aren't introducing the same oxidizing agent. Pistons melt because oxygen burns alot hotter than atmosphere or fuel. Ask a welder how hot his oxy/ace torch runs without oxygen
It's not a choice it's an option! roflmao!

thats it right there. Since your just starting , dont start with a 100 shot, go lower and then as you get the hang of it start giving the car more juice. Make sure that whoever installs it knows what they're doing.
