Answer!

Well i got the time to sit down today and play with this at work. tested my usb to serial and cable with other devices and it worked, went back to the car disconnected battery for 30min, rconnected and nothing. so i looked into the software to find out it is 2 programs, the R4 controller and R4 demo. i deleted the icon on my desktop the other day and replaced it with the demo icon by mistake. the demo lets you do everything but connect to the ecu. well the right icon works now.

Dan thanks. I only got to play a little so far but it seems to be more torquey. the mivec seems smoother like you said it would too. can't wait to mess with it more and get a wideband in to fine tune what you gave me.

EDIT: if you dont mind dan ill figure out how to post a picture of the map with a list of my engine mods so people can see something after reading the last 2pages of us talking.

to be honest with you man, I was very conservative down low because I don't have an accurate idea of what you RPM's are. If you could have logged AFR against RPM, and somehow gotten that automatic down to 2k or so with WOT to start off, I would have been much more aggresive. I can pretty much garauntee you are still leaning out at the mivec changeover, and are probably a little lean below that too. I leaned it out a bit, but only enough to be sure you are in a safe range. I would imagine with the large torque gain you got with the p&p you need lot's more fuel down low.

Dont know if anyone can help me but i've try to play with the fuel maps yesterday and when i enter a value, for example 9.8, It does'nt keep 9.8 for value but only 9. By the way Dan I have almost the same setup as you (except for the CAI instead of a SRI) so i wanted to try your tuned map but this problem occurs...

are you in demo mode like ^ was?

Do you have a wideband? With the CAI on I would think that your low end won't need as much fuel, and you may need a little more up top, but the map would probably be pretty safe. You need a wideband though.

also, are the fields big enough for you to see the whole number?

Wideband is ordered, It still winter here so the piggyback is not installed yet and i've just trying to play with the software. Yeah the fields are big enough to play with the software and i'm in the R4 controller software not the demo mode .

Verify in device manager where you put the USB adapter before assign a com port in the R4 software. Put your options in the R4 software as voltage not preasure in order to see the tables the way its supposed to.

He should be able to edit the cells, even if it's not on the car, and he's not able to.

Are you pressing enter after you edit the cell or clicking somewhere else? How much do you know about computers? Try using the fill function on the toolbar. Select a cell or group of cells and then push the fill button on the toolbar. A box will open asking you what value you want to enter. Change the value and click OK. If it changes the value properly then you are doing something wrong. If it doesn't than I have no clue what's wrong.

probably a good idea, wait until you get a pre cat wideband installed and the tuner will be able to tune more accurately

No one has been able to read the ecu yet, so no. If you mean stock with the piggy, that's 10's for all values in the fuel map.
