OBX Racing Header

ok guys i saw this header on ebay and it looks pretty good to me. i know theres an entire thread on this thing but i didnt figure anyone would find my question there lol srry. I have an AEM cai and RRM's piggy and they work great together and its not even tuned yet....but i was wondering if and how this would work in with the other 2. Would this throw off the piggyback alot and cause it to run extra lean? Because I dont have anywhere to tune around here yet but im looking so hard haha i might have to take a trip to columbus cause i live in ohio. Any imput would be apreciated or even a Map for this setup would be great! haha thx!

If you want to take full advantage of it, then ya your gonna need a retune. It'll still work fine otherwise. You should be more worried about the CEL you'll throw when you lose your stock catalytic converter. The anti-fowler technique failed for me even when attempting various combinations of anti-fowlers and pulling the o2 sensor as far out as possible. The header also has another o2 bung that will need to be filled as we don't use it.

Its worth the money though, fairly close (if not the same as the rrm header) and like 1/2 the price.

I can't say for sure, but to my knowledge no. I've run that header for about a year now and its been all smiles other than the CEL which I've come to ignore. Try the anti-fowler fix, if it fails then you could always buy a OBD scanner and physically erase the code occasionally - its good to have anyways to make sure the CEL is only for the missing catalytic converter.

i used the o2 sim and bought a high flow cat. now i have no light. the header eliminates the cat all together. so if you need inspection your gonna have to have a cat welded on or know someone that will pass it.

well i got my headers installed the other day and i noticed a little difference in power but maybe its all in my head. When i first took off with them after resetting my ecu and letting it idle for a while n stuff, she almost bogged out on me haha. But the more miles i put on her she's slowly adapting. its runnin real good now but you must heat wrap those headers asap! They get so hot on your fans and coolent hoses its rediculus. And for the people who said you need to remove the old bracket and somtimes the fans to get it in is crazy. I turned it sideways and it slid right into place. Helps if someones guiding it up top for you too but still easily done alone. Hardest part in my install was unbolting the cat from the rest of the exhaust cause the rest is stock. But a cut off wheel fixed that in an easy 3 mins. As for raspyness....i never thought the sound would bother me for preformance, but it is a FART CAN between 2000-3000rpms under load. But thats with the rest of the exhaust stock.haha keep you guys updated on how they run!

oh and almost forgot....there was no extra o2 bung on this one so i guess these must be updated ones? And the ports on the manifold were i would say port matched cause they didnt do much for polishing haha

I asked where to get the wrap just a little bit ago, but found it on my own haha. Since I don't know how much you need for these headers...how much did you use?? And how far down do you go? I've never done this before

well the big problem with the obx headers are that there so close together you cant wrap each pipe individually cause 2 layers of wrap(1 on each tube) wont fit through the gaps....so i had to wrap the 2 left runners and 2 right runners as pairs down to where all 4 come together....and after that wrap all 4 together. Then i double wrapped where all 4 come together and down. I used an entire 2" wide by 50' long wrap because i double wrapped most of the header together. But it makes a huge difference you can touch the wrap after a long drive and not get burnt! Best of luck
