Trans Fluid Change

I'm gonna clean up my car a bit...clay, polish and wax next week and i was wondering if I should change the transmissions fluid while i'm doin stuff, or how to check to see if it should be changed.

I'm not sure when it was last done but I know it wasn't done within the last 10,000km. I also found a good thread on a fluid change for an evo with pics and all, but can't seem to find the thread now. I dunno if it would be the same for the RA.
