Adjusting throttle cable

1. On the throttle cable, are both the nuts capable of being adjusted? One of mine does not miove and I'm not sure if that's intended or it's stuck frozen.

2. What's the proper method for adjusting the cable? I develop this hanging idle after stop and go driving that requires me to flick the gas pedal back with my toes to release the cable from being engaged.

I still haven't gone to check mine to see if both of them move but I know that the cable is controlled electronically. You can adjust it but the ecu will make adjustments to keep it in check. I found this out trying to raise my idle before the reflash.

Yes, both nuts suppose to move. If your cable gets stuck then it's time for a new one or you could take it out and drop some oil in the cable housing. Looks like it got rusted.

APPS Adjustment.pdf

Yes, both should move. Both of mine where stuck when I replaced my APPS.
I have attached the proper way to adjust them, which require special tools. But as long as it is adjusted close enough, your ECU should make up the difference like lanzerralliart said.

Gents thank you very much. The adjustment nut was stuck so badly I had to soak it in penetrating oil for a few hours.

I ended up using the instructions for maul adjustment in All Data as they were much simpler to follow. Nonetheless, thank you everyone.

Same here, on both my lancers, my cables have the proper amount of slack, just been too lazy to pull the cables and lube em'. Did that solve the problem, mine only happens if i'm gentle on the accel pedal, like in stop and go traffic as well, which is also the worst time for the throttle to stick...
