ok i did read the manual about the clutch adjust several times before asking but didnt quite understand all it really said was how to check if its in spec. Any who talking with rob he confirmed i can just undo the nut thread the pedal out a bit and then lock it in spot, which i did pulled the pdeal out about 4-5mm little bit to far for what i like but for break in will be ok ill put it back after.

And yeah shifts almost as good as when i first got her probably becuase of the AL underhood bushings i can feel the difference.

Thanks for all the help guys roblaza, cranswick and canada comp guy for confirimg my inital thought in the first place

The service manual is wrong for step 3, or at least the image beside it is. If you look at page 21A-11, part labeled 8 and 9 should be the ones adjusted for step 3.

but anyways, glad it's better now

there are a few errors in the manual i found, we should make a sticky for that, but then i don't think we're supposed to have the damn thing...

i did the same for my clutch pedal (just like what rob did) and adjusted it out about 1cm. it works OKAY now but i'm guessing not as good as a new clutch job lol.

unfortunately, i don't have the service manual so i have NO reference whatsoever

i also checked my slave cylinder but could not pull that "rubber thing/boot thing" off so i just squeezed the shiet out of the "rubbery thing that covers the metal rod that goes into the cylinder when i step on the clutch" and found "grease/oil/wtf is this" on my fingers. it's not a lot but i think that my slave cylinder is leaking. i read this from another thread as well so i thought i would give it a go and VOILA! it's leaking???

my master cylinder seems to be okay as i do not see any leaks anywhere (am i right? lol)

i WOULD start a new thread but i thought i would rather just post here since it's already an ongoing problem for someone

some feedback would be greatly appreciated

thanks again guys!!!

PS: i also want to know if this is okay -- my clutch pedal is touching the fuse box under my dashboard but it's not pushing too hard on it. this is AFTER i adjusted my clutch pedal. is this bad? would this affect my clutch/fuse box by any chance?

yeah it should be.... take a look at some of the pics in my thread here, they don't show the pedal but the upper part of it, maybe compare? https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/04...s-way-out.html

did you get your car used? do you think that maybe the previous driver was really short and had the pedal modified? is your clutch pedal broken? or your fuse box in the wrong location? if you pull out that little compartment by the driver's right knee the fuse box should be directly behind that. maybe it's not touching the fuse box but a remote starter control box?

ohhh! that's why your name sounded familiar! that's the thread i was reading a few days ago lol. we have the same problem. my slave is leaking too did you get a slave yet? i'm not sure where i should order mine. i found some cheap OE replacement ones from "familycar.com/autoparts". you think these ones are legit? lol.

and yeah i'm pretty sure that it's the fuse box lol. it has fuses on it and a red cover. does that sound like your fuse box? i hope so and the compartment you're talking about is on my driver's LEFT knee and the fuse box is right behind it. so technically, the fuse box is somewhere above my clutch pedal.

i think it's time for me to replace my clutch slave since it's leaking. canada_comp, let me know when you're replacing yours let's do it together through a thread :P just thought i'd ask cos i have NO CLUE on how to do that. i know how to order it -- that's about it ahahaha!

thanks for the generous help bro! keep me posted

thanks guys!!!

LOL! Yeah bro! This clutch pedal looks funky -- or maybe I'm just not seeing what you're seeing

Let's do our slave's together since this is probably the first "major" thing that I'm doing with my car, except for taking the whole dashboard apart and cleaning up my wiring and other electronic stuff under there

Let's do a "How-To" on "Clutch Slave Cylinder Replacement"

I'm ordering mine from there too but what sucks is that I have to pay $25+ to ship the damn thing to Canada

Oh well at least I know it's going to last a while

Keep me posted, arite?

Take care bro!

i know it hasnt been a while and ive only really put maybe 200-300km city driving (1100 total ) on the car but things just dont seem to wanna work nicely. ive adjusted the pedal out a fair amount, ive tried bleeding the slave a bit, ive added a bit more tranny oil, the only thing that seems to help anymore is if the weather warms up a bit.

For whatever reason most of the time 1st sucks to pull out of gear, and 2nd is weird going into gear downshifting or upshifiting coming out of second seems ok. All other gears are fine except R sometimes but i never cleaned the dog teeth of any other gears.

im not sure if this just needs wear in or if its the clutch not disengaging or if maybe its just the fact that i dremeled the dog teeth on 1 and 2 gear to give them a sharp point again, im also concerned about adjusting the pedal out to far since it seems like my clutch fork is now starting to groan quite loud when i push the clutch in doesn't feel stiff or anything tho.

any body have helpfully tips thanks

have you checked that the slave isn't leaking under the boot?

If the brake master cylinder reservoir isn't full to the top it won't send fluid to the clutch master so when you go to bleed it air gets in the system from lack of fluid from the brake master reservoir so when you do bleed the system make sure it's full and fluid is leaving the reservoir when fluid comes out the bleeder. I thought I had a clog and the fluid was at the max line I took the tube off that goes to the CM and nothing came out til I filled the reservoir til it was almost over flowing than it came out to go the CM. Also I was able to stretch/ bend the first half of the metal clutch line from the CM to go to the slave cylinder eliminating the block thing ( can't remember the proper name)
