Coolong Fan Module bypass???

Hello i recently acquired a 2004 ralliart and my cooling fans are not working (at all). Neither the A/C fan or the cooling fan work. From reading through the forums i basically deduced that my fan control module is no good. Rather than replacing the module id like to bypass the controller and run the fans through a set of relays. Im wondering if anyone on here has a wiring schematic for the cooling fan module and a pinout of the ecm; or have attempted to bypass the controller without hard wiring a manual switch inside the car (i dont want to have to worry about switching my fans on)

just get a new module...they're $90 shipped

no sense adding relays, because you would still need some kind of control module to control them or the engine will not keep constant optimal operating temp.

^^ this. Want optimal fan operation. If you used the car only in the summer or year-round in warm weather then directly hardwired fans would probably be okay, but if you drive in cold climates/winter then for sure replace the controller.

Managed to find a module from an 04 MPV. (Mpvs ran a similar calsonic cooling system for that year. Modules are the same) At least everything is working while the new one ships.

This temp fix actually worked for you? So you basically took a 2004 Mazda MPV module and hooked it up to your RA? Wow, never thought of that. Has that been covered? I didn't even search yet but just thought I would ask

I can't imagine that things like that module would be exclusive to only so it doesnt surprise me. Just need to figure out which cars share it I suppose.

Yep. Works like a charm. Couldn't find a scraplancer or outlander anywhere near me but after some digging found that the MPV module is the same.

Nice, maybe I'll do the same with mine before I order a new one. I will look around in my local wrecker and I'll see how if they have any. If they're cheaper than the OEM ones, and works the same way, I will grab as much as I can and give it to anyone who needs one. Good find, bro!
